Here's my transition from relaxed hair to natural hair (15 months post update). My transition to natural hair has been going well and I'll be doing my BIG CHOP in April this year. In my 1 year post relaxer update in October 2016, I mentioned that I'll be experimenting with a few hair products, so today, I'll be showing you a few I've tested to help enhance my natural curls, making them pop!
Here's the list of products I used in the video;
Eco Styler Gel (Olive Oil); amzn.to/2dmlaoM
Cantu Shea Butter - Define & Shine Custard; amzn.to/2jd3QqI
TGIN - Butter Cream Daily Moisturizer; amzn.to/2jK681y
Coco Loco Coconut Oil; amzn.to/2jdcjdK (Alternative Coconut Oil)
Hope you enjoy my video! x

Thank you so much for the transition videos. My texture is very similar to yours so it is great to see your progression. I'm almost 6 months post now. I plan on making to at least a year but would love to go two years if I can cutting off a little at a time. The two textures are annoying but so far I'm dealing with it. Great job making it this far. Can't wait to see your BC!

my hair texture in some areas look exactly like yours at the 20 week post. I'm only 7 months post relaxer but when I touch my new growth, I can feel those spirals in certain areas but they shrink so much I can't see them unless I stretch them with my finger. I will be cutting my hair soon to shorten the relax ends. I want to big chop in june. that will be a year for me. your natural hair is coming in very pretty. keep up the good work .

It just hit me if I didn't big chop at one year I'd be 1 year 7 months but I really didn't see the point anymore. Partly because of my hair seemed long enough and also because i was only doing one decent hair style after 10 months and i hated that. I'm surprised your hair seems so laid because without heat mine just wouldnt lay flat and twist/braid outs weren't for me

Wat made u want to transition frm relaxed to natural?
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 7 жыл бұрын
+Brittany Jacqueline Well, having been on my relaxed hair journey for 9 years and reaching my hair goals, I just felt it was time to get to know my natural hair.
@BoujeeBwiththeTea
@BoujeeBwiththeTea 7 жыл бұрын
I understand. Seeing my friends go natural made me wonder wat my natural hair would look like. I've always had the thought of it, but the thing tht really pushed me to try it was my thinning edges. My edges weren't bad because I caught it early enough, thank God. It's been 3 months since then. Part of me wants a relaxer because these roots are way too thick for me to handle lol & the other half is like, it's a new year, I'm in a new country, so I should try new things w/my hair. I've even started wearing braids & the last time I wore braids b4 now was in 4th grade & I'm 21 now 😂 Plus, I like the scrunchiness of my hair
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 7 жыл бұрын
+Brittany Jacqueline It's going to be quite challenging, especially if you've been relaxed most of your life (like me) and it's all you've ever known. But as long as it's what you want and you do lots of research on managing natural hair, products etc, you'll be fine! Best of luck with everything 😊

I'm new to your channel. What protective styles do you wear when transitioning. Is it ok to get box braids marley twist etc..?? I'm just starting my journey I want to aim for 2 years but things could change .
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 7 жыл бұрын
+Veronica Hey, welcome to my channel 😊 I've worn box braids & a wig during my transition so far. Yes it's ok to wear braids or marley twists, but just ensure they're not done too tight and keep your hair moisturised underneath as often as necessary.

HELP, hello. I'm going through the transitioning phase right now. My last perm was in October 2015. In October of 2016 I got my hair cut into a bob. Basically most of the damage in the back of my head is gone, but I still have a LOT of it at the top/the front of my hair. Should i continue to transition or should I just cut the hair in the front? I really dont want to big chop, but if i have to, I will! Thanks for the help if you can.
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 7 жыл бұрын
+renee royal If it's really bad, then it might be best to cut it, so it can continue to grow nice and healthy.

That's correct! But remember 20 weeks post is (5 months) and 15 months is (1 year and 3 months). I think you've confused the 20 weeks post for 20 months maybe?!
