First, sweet about planting by ur daughters window idea. Second I have gorgeous sunflowers that I have not planted for 3 years as the bird food I get from Costco has 4 diff kinds of seeds in there and between them and my little chipmunk yearly visitor they plant them for me. I was never a fan of sunflowers until they just started appearing in these large bunches in my yard. The only problem I had the first year because I had no idea this would be happening I had already planted my tomatoes, peppers, and jalapeños in the 3x10 area I do every year and didn't get a very good harvest since the sunflowers buried those babies from the sun.😂 Wish I could post a picture from last year, this year already growing strong but not yet bloomed its amazing. I feed the birds and birds repay me by planting the 🌻

It would be nice to see them when they are grown.

thanks for sharing!! I'm planting sunflowers for the first time this year and was a bit nervous about transplanting/separating seedlings and this helped

So I have to transplant them young, eh? Good to know. First time I have ever begun them from seed indoors and my Titans are getting long and leggy. It is definitely warm enough now. We’re experiencing 80 degree Fahrenheit weather. I hope this works because like I said, I’ve always down my seed directly into the ground. Wish me luck!!

How high did you grow them indoors? Or how many weeks?
@clairebeane34553 жыл бұрын
@@Dwayndibb not more than a couple of inches. They all took well to the transition outdoors. The only ones that didn’t survive went into the gullets of birds. 😏

@@Dwayndibb also, I just waited till they each had more than one set of leaves. If that helps at all.

What was the outdoor night temperature when you took out the seedlings?

Thanks for the info on planting. I only wish that your camera was in better view. I relied on your audio and some of the shots. Still very helpful 👍🏻

How are your sunflowers doing 😁

Is there anyway to save the second seedlings that are close together, I absolutely so not like just snipping and tossing other ones. I feel like with some plants its hard enough to get them to sprout, then just to throw them away is a huge waste of time, and eventually money!

Maybe it's just me but I couldn't see what he was doing when he used the spoon to dig up or transplant. That's what I really needed to learn. Uhggg!!

Better off planting them deeper as they will grow roots from the buried stem.

Y'all, I think I accidentally cut a root or three roots with my spoon, will mine die ? 😭
@coilyheadrhy2 жыл бұрын
as long as u have some roots left on the stem, i think ur fine. my sunflower's roots completely detached from my sunflower and it's doing fine( just won't grow roots back 😕).

WAIT, I KEPT THE PLANT IN A CUP OF WATER FOR A WEEK OR TWO SND UTS GROWING BACK ROOTS! SO EXCITED 🙈
