Is lignin a polysaccharide? Doesn't it end with -in? So wouldn't it be a protein?

You are very right Manas. Lignin is a polyaromatic amorphous biopolymer. Cellulose and hemicellulose are polysaccharides composed by monomeric sugars such as glucose, xylose mainly

Better than my life over the last 30 years. Our society makes us sick. You heard it here first. Imagine in the 21st century and buying a jar of this weird yellow organism that goes on your skin and has been there for 8 years and doctors and dermatologists saying nothing is there. Imagine that?!

Can someone please explain this to me as simply as possible I’m only in yr 8 and I don’t get it at all
@tariromudyazvivi19573 жыл бұрын
In the simplest way I can describe it: Xylem vessels are transport tissue found in the plant stems . They mainly carry water and minerals around the plant. They are dead cells and so they don't have any of the usual cell organelles which makes them hollow and leave more room for the water and minerals to move uninterrupted and efficiently. There is a bit more to it but I think this could just help you grasp it although since you're in year 8 I would advise you to maybe check out an IGCSE level resource. Hope this helps! ^^
