Transporter HQ Europe, Is it really over?!?!

Brexit forced us to set up a European business. Couriers wouldn't even collect parcels from the UK to Europe for 3 weeks initially, they'd charge a fortune to ship, the parcel would sit in the depots for weeks while they tried to understand the paperwork before delivering it to the customer.
The good news is, thats all changed now! The couriers are desperate for the business, offering really competitive prices, fast delivery without tons of additional paperwork. The end result is, customers in Europe could now buy parts from Transporter HQ UK, cheaper than buying from our business in The Netherlands. Don't let duty put you off, 99.9% of the time, it'll still work out cheaper.
Now if you're in Europe, you have access to the UK's larger range of products and at a cheaper price. If you still really don't want to buy from the UK, we are setting up partners throughout Europe, that sell and install our products in your country.

Appreciate your explanation about the closure of your EU operation but that leaves some customers in the EU with an issue. The logic for your decision is sound but as a customer in Sweden I am looking at 3 to 5 weeks for a UK parcel to clear customs plus fees. That is if it gets here and if it clears customs. I would love to buy from you, I find your video explanations to be an excellent source of information. I had an RHD T4 here in Sweden for 6 years but she's back in the UK now, buying ANY RHD-specific parts became more than a challenge and workshops here did not want the hassle or to have a vehicle stuck in the shop for weeks waiting for something that might not arrive. Eventually, I gave up on her. I now have a LHD T6 which is in need of some mods, as you do 😉 and the availability of parts here in Sweden is limited, to say the least. From a selection of goods and price perspective you win hands down but getting it here, simply not worth the gamble. Within the EU, very easy, outside the EU, not worth it.

My wife works for a hydraulics company in Kent and send stuff all over Europe. She and I totally know what you have to go through as she has to get quotes and codes for each pallet before couriers can quote. She now knows the girls in HMRC Ashford who deal with the e-commerce stuff and are ever so helpful. If you guys need any help just ask as my wife is now an expert in getting stuff into Europe cheap as chips!

This is all very good but at the destination country there is still frequently heavy friction, users gets packages held up in customs, get random duty charges add, contesting for the right duty is a pain, nobody bothers. Getting stuff shipped from the UK is an absolute ball ache. I hope your business thrives despite the Brexit madness.

yeah they told me about it at HQ Europe bloody shame .... bought almost everything for the T6.1 only the big brakes are still on my bucket list 😁

Very interesting insights Andy. I don’t think many people appreciate how many moving parts there are (no pun intended) to a business like this. You probably know this but what will really open up the German alloy wheel market is getting an ABE (allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis) for the various wheels. I don’t know what’s involved for that from your end but the customer can then fit them straight on without further fuss (and trust me, the Germans do fuss 😅).

I placed a £1000 order to Ireland 1.5 weeks ago and after multiple emails and phone calls to see where the order was I've just been told it was still in TQ warehouse to be sent today. Disappointing as I had hoped to work on the van this week & over Xmas. Hopefully it turns up this week 🤞

Uk or EU website? If it's UK, this really shouldn't happen. Items will leave within a day. The new Europe team based in the uk are getting on top of couriers and commodity codes. It will be running super smooth by Jan.

@@THQAutomotive Yes the UK site. I was advised to use UK site as the EU was closing. I did receive a camper glass order that was ordered same day. As you say , plastic trims etc.. receive a hefty duty/vat. Mine was 30euro on a 30pound order or thereabouts.

I can imagine how many hoos you guys have to jump through to deal with Europe. As a small company who need to send the odd one or two parcels to Europe.....we just have to say sorry , its not worth the paperwork. With the volume transporter HQ do, you just jave to make it work...good luck 🤞

We didn't continue with development as the T7 multivan just don't take off enough. All focus of the new T7 van now. We can supply Bilstein evo s coilovers for the multivan though.

Too bad... I bought an Ovano Switch Narrow on Transporter HQ Europe which I received on this Wednesday (France) A wooden part (where there is a slide on the right side) arrived damaged. Can you help me if TransporterHQ EU closes ? I sent an email to Transport HQ EU and still haven't had a response. Thx

Yes 100%, we email us details of the part that is damaged. export@transporterhq.co.uk we will have a UK team set up especially to deal with European orders.

Regarding the import duty, are you then not charging uk tax on items ordered from Europe, and then import tax will be paid to customs in the destination country as an import, or you will also take care of the import tax as part of the price and declare it as such on the import?

We don't charge UK VAT when shipping to Europe. You just pay VAT in your country.

Just one more thing, I had a login for others on the European website, but doesn't seem to work on UK site, and cannot find where to create the account on the UK page. You have login but no register. Can you help me out here please.

@@THQAutomotive know some people that also done business with them. What i have been told is they made a mess with some things money wise, could be accounting, open invoices i dont know.. but now its more like a warehouse for parts no builds anymore. What i have read on FB from Marco is that they gone another way but stil shareholder of the company but a lot of Transporter drivers have doubs about it?

@@THQAutomotive thays whats i also have been told.. to bad they could have a good business here in EU with transporters! Already told a lot of owners to do order direct with u guys from UK. So if there are comming orders from NL, could be some of mine contacts!
