Ok, so 2 things: 1. I literally fell to the floor crying and laughing when Jon mentioned his daughter's reaction. 2. Now I totally want to see someone make a "Tears in the rain" diorama! I'd say I want to do it myself but I won't have that kind of skill in a million years :D

Firstly, as someone with IBS and also has that risky time window in the morning where I'm guaranteed to poop, dangers times and have come close to your situation myself John, you are not alone. secondly, I always set up my army to look at, sometimes on a battlefield or in little narratives just to enjoy them.
@arodreth4 жыл бұрын
47:46 Actually, if you focus on the skirmish games, you can get a painted " army" for all those systems :D warcry & killteam has small model counts, which is exactly why I am enjoying them so. I want the buffet effect, I dont think I will enjoy painting 100+ models in a very similar color scheme with similar motifs and stuff like that. But in warcry, I paint 10 dudes and I am done! if I want to, I can go ahead and try another warband. Already have 4 warbands, several more on the way, having a great time.

Honestly, Jon, the mini diorama of a space marine holding the shattered helmet or gene seed in his barracks is way better without the scene of what happened floating behind him. The viewer not knowing the particulars is a better way to induce empathy than showing us.

28:00 My painted mini shelves are like ever-changing diaromas of all kinds of AoS minis having a brawl. Currently I've added to the finished pile a khorgorath, he is looking very mean towards a certain Knight questor. I dont like stormcast, but I like puting them in peril. theyre surrounded with putrid blightking bois and some other birdmen of tzeentch. There's only three of the stormcast, so I am sure they're in a perpetual state of shitting their pants. #crappedpantssolidarity

I think Jon's space marine idea called haunted would be amazing if it was a guardsman, as they tend to have more emotion. You could have him holding a little keepsake from the other solider. Maybe Cadia against demons?

I "Play Toys" sooooo much as I paint things. After I finish a unit or a new hero, I'll break out a bunch of other units from the army and some "enemy" army units to pose them up for cool looking battle scenes. Complete with terrain. Then I take a bunch of action photo shots that I never get around to posting anywhere. Maybe send one to friends. 🤔

I have 3 fully painted armies. All 3 are well over 2000 points. Feels really good to have them done but when a new unit comes out it feels horrible having to go back to them and paint that new unit the same way i did everything else. Its almost like revisiting an old drawing and expecting to add onto it even though its been done for years haha. Incase people are wondering the armies: Ogor kingdoms Flesh Eater Courts Maggotkin of Nurgle. I just ordered a huge Space Wolves force as my re-entry into 40k!
@ProrokLebioda4 жыл бұрын
Jon is GROSS... and I love it! Thunderwolves are plastic kit. Should be prettty easy to convert, rider and mount are totally separate. There are some minor sci-fi bits, but I believe that if you put them together in a right way then you have only 1 looking obviously sci-fi. It won't be cheaper than using old WoC horses. Maybe go for 75mm scale with rain diorama? Could be easier to do what you intend without obscuring details.

Hey about that space marine diorama if you want lord help salamanders are the most human chapter by far and they even stay with there families on there home world when they are not fighting. So it could be him on a bed at his home and instead of a bolt or it could be a flamethrower.

I believe this topic raises an interesting question: What is the meaning of "fully" when saying "fully painted army"? To me, it means: having every entry of the book in a big enough quantity to play any kind of list comp that could be interesting game wise (sometimes it becomes insane, I confess...).

Jon I think you meant to say "You want Pirate Vampires to look more like Jack Sparrow instead of Cap'n Crunch."
@anthonymuller12234 жыл бұрын
Having read no lore, regarding vampire pirates. Is that why they maybe, like in Total War Warhammer with the Vampire Coast. Is that why they have things like hex wraiths, and scurry monsters, and wights? So when they sleeping they got some scary ass minions to do their bidding? Or like in Underworld, they had lycans to do their day time chores. Is an all vampire army at a real disadvantage vs other death faction armies because theyd have to be vulnerable during daytime? Sorry, I just thought of this lol
@tinaprice49484 жыл бұрын
Pirate vampires would have humanoids, live humanoids that are their slave/ blood supply that sail during the day, maybe like people that one day wish to be turned into vampires?
