You can tell this show was made in the early 1980s - three weeks in the hospital after open heart; now it is 3 days and the insurance companies think that's too long!

This was made 40 years ago, so open heart surgery was in its infancy.

Hubby was in the Navy, and it was a big Navy town, but in the 70s, a civilian Nurses Strike damn near shut the whole City down. I've got The Big C, so I spend a lotta time now, in hospital. I'm a good patient, but I hear others giving the Nurses such a hard time, I don't know how they put up with it. I know I couldn't. EVER. I've got nothing but respect for these lovely ladies and gents. RESPECT FOR NURSES. Everywhere. Thank you all for your service.

Strikes should be outlawed they ruin lives of those who have families. Picket signs don’t belong in sight I’ve dealt with those who carried picket signs I told them get back to work you have what you need

God forbid that workers use what little leverage they have to improve their lot in life - and how on EARTH do you know that they "have what they need"?? How could you POSSIBLY know what they may or may not need??

How about you walk a week in a nurses shoes...then tell me they have everything they need...you have no idea what overall conditions they work under...from management down to understaffed...with lots in the middle...
