In the offseason dissolve some steelwool in white vinegar inside a mason jar. Takes a day or two. Then paint the boxes with it. It will make it look like old barn wood and actually add weatherization to the wood and reduce that bright new wood look so they dont stand out so much.

Those boxes looks badass. We cant use cables or conis on land here. I can use snares during a nuisance job but rarely do unless it's for beaver.

I usually flag away from my cubbies 4'-10'. Fresh beaver in the back of cubbies with a good bobcat gland lure and a touch of castor. Both smeared in the top of the box. Best wishes

Coni boxes whether wood or 5 gal pail, work best in toilet areas ,by fences,hedgerows & stone walls are probably the best place of all. If mounted on a tree facing down ,just 24 - 30" off the ground (where legal ,similar to a fisher box sex) the cat will usually hold the tree bark with paws as it pokes its head up & in & not reach in & paw at bait with legs.Makes it want to explore & sniff the bait more .

@marktheo1563
@marktheo1563 10 ай бұрын
You actually should put the bait pretty far back in the coni box so as not to encourage them to paw at it ,but to actually realize they will have to do that after their head enters. Honestly for bobcats the boxes should be longer or deeper

I watched episode 15 today then all of a sudden episode 18 popped up. I watched that then went into the archives and found episodes 16 and 17. That bobcat is huge. I think the biggest i ever caught was 18 or 19lbs.

A big chunk of beaver will work better in the boxes. I use beaver in my cage sets. I like it better when the beaver starts getting that green ting to it. Lol.

Hey Justin did you see that buck scrape at the 19:30 mark?? I didn’t hear you say anything about it so I wasn’t sure if you had seen it or not!! It wasn’t much but it was definitely wear a buck scraped that little tree for sure!!! Oh and I definitely see a couple of those box sets catching something very very soon for sure also!!! I’d definitely say the one with the tree skirting flag and the other one that you had put some oh fuck in and the other bait that you also put in it!! Mark my words those should be a couple of first catches if they see it for sure!!!! Awesome video buddy!!!

I've typed this twice already. Do not know what went wrong. You will make many changes to this boxes over a few years so make them cheap. Your traps fit in them plenty tight. Boxes or buckets work well with a board under them. They will be a blessing and a curse. You will stop using lure in boxes after awhile. The bait you have is good. You can use less. There 220 man I ever knew used buckets and sometimes boxes with natural bait, a board under the box or bucket, a220 sleepy creek, and his triggers center and bent into the bucket, he caught 25 cats a year and ran a hundred buckets. Good luck with them, you will need it.

Was that a buck rub at 19:26? So DNR can just come on flair’s property whenever they want to make sure everything is legal? Do you have to notify them where you are trapping?

Why is a law enforcement office going on a privet ranch without a warrant? That is Trasspassion even for any department of law Enforcment. There was a women suspected to be murdered in some privet property close to where I live and the landowners hadn't been home so the cops had to wait for the landowners to come home to get permission to go on to the privet property and sure thing the women were found dead. It is in constitutional law even about cops entering privet property. I would tell the SOB - MOTHER F er stay off the land if you don't have a warrant. Anyone who talks to the cops or allow the cops anything is asking for trouble and illegal things planted on the property.
