@@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 Hi Jeromy, Thank You for the reply…. I lived on a island in Prince William Sound, Evans Island, for some 20-years…. Started a Mom &. Pop fishing, hunting lodge, Alaska Jumping Salmon Lodge, aired on national TV 4-Times, very remote, boat, or sea plane, access…. Anyway, aging up, moved now to NW Montana, tough country for trapping, all deep mountains and tons of snow, with flex temperatures…. I trap all winter, very low number’s but gorgeous country, 3-black wolves last year… I also trap in Oregon around Christmas time in Tygh Valley, lots easier with the trapping, do get some number’s there… We will communicate, Love your family interaction, Cool Beans …. Great Great Channel with Excellent Flavor…

They work great. I use them for almost all my trail sets, and they work great for any entanglement laws trappers may have in their state. Thanks for watching!

It make for a fast set. I usually have my snare, and extension made up at my Ranger, then just walk to the set and pound them in the ground. Good luck with it Tom

Great tip on the supports, I picked up a 20ft stick of #4 rebar and 12, 5/8's nuts and made up 12 of the supports. Went out this afternoon and used some of them and they work like a charm.Not counting the wire , which I already had I have $1.70 in each support , very inexpensive for something that is a great anchor and support. Thanks Jeromy

That is awesome Mike! I just got back in from my trapline. I had a triple on coyotes using this same support, and then another coyote a couple hundred yards away. They do work great! I hope you have as good of luck with them as I have. Thanks for the updates too!

Great job. I tried putting 24 inch 3/8 rebar cross stakes in yesterday. They wouldn't hold. I got a 18 inch cable on a pogo in. It held good the place i am trapping is sandy bad. I use a killpole 5ft 5/8 rebar. It has my anchor and snare support all in one. Plus they will wrap around the rebar and dispatch themselves sometimes. I leave them in place yr after yr. I trap out of my truck. I know the rebar comes in handy. No looking for a place to tie off. I know the 5 ft 1/2 rebar. A coyote will bend it. I use a 1/2 rebar on coons beavers otters cats and fox. Going to all 5/8 some day. But it was free cant grip . I enjoy your snaring video. I watch over and over.

Do you have any coyotes pull the stake out are you using these in soft soil . And what snare locks do you like to use
@jeromycooley-outwestadvent57902 жыл бұрын
Good questions Jeff. I have not had any pullouts this year or last year. I was Leary about pullouts, so I set about a dozen to start with to see if they would hold good. They held mid 30lb coyotes no problem. If there is any brush, or tall grass around they seem to tangle on that, and it puts less stress on the stake. In my next coyote video, I have a coyote in one of these stakes/supports, and he wrapped around some meadow grass, he was pulling on the grass instead of the stake. I have set them in soft soil with no vegetation around, and they have held great. I have had 3 coyotes chew out of the 5/64 cable, but those were in fence snares. I use the micro locks from F&T. They work the best for me. My Dad uses Thompson’s locks, and he loves them. I think everyone has their own opinion on locks. I’ll find the link to my video of how I make my snares and add it ti this. Thanks Jeff
