I was born at gorogocho and after my late mum find it difficult to raise me due to luck of job she ended up at this dump site ,six children as a single mum it wasn't easy for her, I wish she was alive today she would truly enjoyed the fruit of her labour.

Great video as always. This clearly show a total failure by the government to deal with a simple situation. This clearly show that this is a clear case of corruption. Really sad.

Nice informative video. If all the truck drivers must pay security to the gang then it does not make sense that it is under management of the county government of Nairobi! The gangs ndio kusema tu! You pay offloading fee and the same gangs make money out of what has been dumped😡🤔!

Thanks for the info. May God remember all who scavenge here to earn their daily bread cause if corruption was not with everyone then these people could not be here. We have so many graduates who have no jobs. It is better to b here rather than being educated and jobless.

Developed countries make trash recycling and make the country cleaner and environmentally friendly why not Kenya do it so, this is a lot of wasting time and money it can help employ many young people in that field.
@picsandvidstv13482 жыл бұрын
If this was done nicely it could be a good thing! But the government is ignoring this! The ones who are doing this aren’t protected and they suffering even more! Drugs, air pollution is all that is seen!

Frankly, this problem with waste mafias is almost everywhere. In Europe, conditions are not so harsh for the locals, but, for example, hundreds of tonnes of rubbish are illegally exported from Germany every month. That figure is just the tip of the iceberg, which has been discovered by the police or journalists; nobody knows the whole situation.

The issue can be fixed by city governments. It’s affecting job opportunities for Kenyans when government fail to create laws. I have worked for garbage companies and this is a multi billion business.

Snakes also get dumped as they were previously hiding in skips and boxes. So, it's filthy dangerous. Maybe, for some it's worth it short term but reality is, the risks to health and life is not worth it.

Same here , grew up in Dandora and used to frequent boma to get toys, sweets etc. Often found dumped foetuses and human remains. Still have nightmares sometimes.

@kakambweha5062 Жыл бұрын
Boma!! This used to be my family,s source of income. I recall a load dumped in 1981....more than 13 dead bodies from the hospital,mixed with the food! We only saw the bodies after going through our food. ....it's been a long journey folks. I totally understand and respect the workers there.
