In the early 90's I was a British soldier on exercise in Kenya. Every-one had to go to Nanyuki at some time and take a turn escorting the rubbish trucks out to the local dump. I don't think drugs were an issue at the time but it was still a real eye opener. The poor people living in the dump mobbed the trucks in the hope of something edible in the sacks we threw out the back. Hands came through the canopy and they were eating cookhouse slops before they had landed back on the ground. Little children looked on in the hope that there would be something left for them. We young, tough soldiers with tears in our eyes grew up in ways we could never before imagine that day. No-one spoke for the rest of the day. When I see wasted food now, I remember the sight of the tiny little girl of around 3 years old, grey with filth, looking hopefully at a man tearing into a bin bag.

The most surprising for me is how those children are friendly. Smiling with their beautiful smiles, and totally open to a stranger. Beautiful and smart people are getting zombies because of conditions and cheap drugs they have.
@STG44musikmeister3 жыл бұрын
That's actually pretty common. Some of the nicest, most gracious, most generous people I've met were people living in total poverty and really terrible living situations. The children especially. Kenya was no exception.
@korbaul3 жыл бұрын
@@STG44musikmeister that heavily depends on how you determine kindness/graciousness. Would a person donating $1 out of their $100 be more kind/gracious than someone donating $10 out of their $1000000? My heart tells me the $1 individual is doing more, but my brain and logic tells me that the $10 individual is the kinder of the two. At the end of the day kindness/niceness isn’t measured relatively but absolutely. It might be a very tough and bitter pill to swallow but an individual dedicating their lives to charity unfortunately would have provided less help than some wealthy guy donating a large sum for tax rebates. Does that mean the wealthy guy is an ass? No. Does that mean the charitable person was useless? No. However, it does mean that the wealthy guy did render more help than the charitable individual.

yeah man same, just watching this snaps me out of whatever lazy ass mood im in, and immediately makes me go "ok what can I do to fix this?" when usually I think about girls, how to make money and what to eat for breakfast. I have ideas but no way to execute right now. like possibly some kind of non-profit organisation where all donations pay for doctors and teachers and such, to help reform this cruel harsh world. but it doesn't help when the greedy end up in power, and continue being in that position. the people with the most power to change this kind of thing usually don't. it sucks.

People say Bill Gates donated billions of dollars to Africa. No, all what he was doing was only jabbing every person there. There won't be a need of medicine when they live a healthy lifestyle. If he really wanted to help, we would have done water supply, food supply management but all he did was giving chemicals
@mattcannon84673 жыл бұрын
Donating money isn't going to do anything. They've been having donations for decades. The leaders of the country don't care about their citizens, that is where the problems lay. Everyone in power is corrupt and giving them money means they can get away with everything.

@@Aka-vs6jt I agree with the last thing. But these problems exist because those governments think , 'f..k all' I fill my pockets and that's it. That's the real problem. There is zero altruism in the leaders. People in position of power should take their responsibility . When you have power you have responsibilty. I'm not from any religion. But I remember from reading the bible many many years ago what Jesus Christ said. The Jewish people were God's special people. But along that came a bigger responsibilty. You can't wash your hands in innocence when doing nothing when you have the ability to do something about it as the leaders of a country. Governements biggest responsibilty is serving the people. And serving them well. And that also means, the VERY vulnerable. Especially those... In a way, the suffering of these kids are on their account. It's like when someone who can't walk is lying in the middle of the street. There's a truck/car coming further away. And you're standing there. Not doing anything will lead to this person's death. What will you do. Save him/her ofcourse. Any healthy soul on this planet would do that. You don't want to be thinking about yourself I did nothing, and now because of this, he/she is dead. Same for the governemt. These kids are their responsibilty.
@Aka-vs6jt3 жыл бұрын
@@Ve-suvius Exactly my point. The government is supposed to, but they don't. The only way to make a government do anything useful is to educate the citizens.

No lottery. God has a plan (atheists can keep all their hate to themselves). Not trying at all to downplay the suffering of these poor people (hope things improve for all who suffer), but it’s better to suffer temporarily in this life than eternally in the next (afterlife). In a way, being rich is something to avoid because you may stop believing in God and may start acting like you are a false so-called “god/goddess” who may erroneously believe that you don’t need God in your life. This is a massive mistake and one that can potentially land someone in Hell for all eternity. Peace be with you all! Viva Cristo Rey!

Hell is clearly a metaphor for the life that these people live in. If they don't find god they suffer? For eternity? People would get used to hell. After 9 million years of a flaming nightmare vulture chewing out your entrails it would become routine.
