I've rarely used a string retainer bar on my Floyd Rose locking nut equipped Guitars. No matter the headstock break angle. Because the locking blocks hold the string flat flush a strong.

Was the break angle not enough that it needed a string tree, or does this sometimes even happen on stock/original Jackson necks?

When it comes to guitar strings, I currently like an 11-49 set of D'Addario strings (tuned a semitone lower) on my Harley Benton EX-76LH and exactly the same set of D'Addario strings (tuned a whole tone lower) on my Harley Benton SC-400 SBKLH. Yes, I am left-handed, I would like to briefly note.

That's an awesome guitar. I love the shape, and the paint job looks insane. I use glow in the dark dots on the top of my fretboards, they actually really help on a dark stage. I've just finished a fluoro green, glow in the dark Jackson Rhoads. The glow in the dark paint is really expensive and difficult to apply, you have to move back further than normal and it leaves a rough texture, almost like a foam. But it looks so awesome.
@allkillergaming5623

LOVED this build! Especially the glow in the dark inlays and side markers! As far as the strings go, I rocked Heavy Bottom Light Tops for years (10-52), but recently switched back to 10-46s. I’ve been relying more on my technique and EQ to get my heavier tones, and I’m appreciating the easier playability of switching back!

That Over hanging fretboard for the 24 fret neck is why I never used warmoth necks. Since I really only like 24 fret necks ... I actually did a modification build and used a Rouge neck that was very similar. Overhang ... I cut the neck heel flat and added a block to bring it out to the end. Since I glue set my necks into body . I build 24 fret Dean ML style with Floyd Rose.. have You built any ,24 fret ML style Guitars?

LOVE this guitar. Looks fantastic and sounds awesome. Just wondering, have you ever done a swirl? Would love to see an interesting swirl but 2 colours not included the base. There are a few around with 5 or 6 colours but that's too much in my opinion. Adding a glow in the dark fretboard and matching light up kill switch (I would use a beautiful peacock blue base with maybe a lighter blue... not sky but a cool blue, and a contrast colour with a blue kill switch and black hardware). Maybe an EVH bridge pickup and possibly a neck pickup (can you get a 2 tone colour but instead of cream, blue to match the base paint and black.... I think I might want one for myself. How much would something like that cost (a kit body and neck like this is fine by me. Maybe an ibanez RG body or a Kramer body).... cheers, and great video.

That thing is sick, the glowing makes the finishing touches on that. Have you ever thought of putting LED lights behind the fretboard to let the inlays glow and side markers glow? also DR DDT drop tune 12-60. we play in drop b flat/a sharp

I’m taking a crack at building necks. I have a couple custom RG bodies that my uncle CNCd for me on the way. The first one (test blank) was actually a cutting board that he had made and he said it came out like shit, so…. #2 I believe is a 2pc (it’s what he had lying around) mahogany.

never do output jack on lower horn for RR style guitar, I'm begging you, it's worst idea ever, it's ungodly uncomfortable for sitting down playing. You can do it on top horn, do it on the back as some solar guitars, basically there's ton of better options :)

Beautiful guitar, as I always expect from your great works. The alien blood splatter, what paint are you using for that color? Is it also matte or gloss? Do you clear again over the blood splatter parts as well as when you clear the black to set it? You keep being you, and doing amazing guitar builds. If I get the money one day, I would love for you to re-do my first guitar, a 99 squier strat :D

@mtrhd.
@mtrhd. Жыл бұрын
I know I'm probably late to suggest a hack for the truss cover, but why not cut it into some kind of a T shape that relies solely on the further screw to hold it in, while the string retainer screws can keep it aligned, and do away with the two nearest screws to the nut (the original truss screws). This way you would unscrew the one on top (closest to the tuners) and it would slide off to adjust the truss. An L shaped allen key would handle the adjustment, and that's that.
