So after years of using some tools they finally gave up and you know me ill melt them down into something. I also melted down the wife's hair straightener and a small fan. Don’t forget to hit the bell 🔔 for all notifications as I’m working on a giveaway for 4 lucky winners very soon , they can be anywhere in the world I just need to work out what they will win and what the giveaway would involve. I won’t be putting giveaway in the title as that would attract a lot of people that don’t normally view my channel so you will not know which vid it is so be sure to watch them all👌🏻. And like I normally say if you like the rings used in this video be sure to check out the description where you can get 20% off the already discounted rings using my code and if you want to try your hand at melting yourself you can buy the burner on its own or the whole furnace set up and I can organise a 5% link for you of the total furnace price just email me on the link in the description😁👍🏻.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.
****************************************************
STEEL FOR MY FRIEND
I keep all my steel and cast iron pieces and I give them to my friend and once he gets about a tonne from me and his own collecting he takes that to the scrapyard and sells it then he buys some beer and comes over to my house and we make a night of it.
No My friend doesn’t have a KZbin channel he just scraps metal in his spare time.

Happy Friday everyone I hope you’ve all been well and had a uneventful week so sit back turn your brain off in tune out for the best 10 minutes of the week😁. Today isn’t a very big melt or addition to the shelves but that’s okay every little bit helps and I certainly wasn’t going to throw out these tools without stripping them. Now like I always say if you want to try this satisfying hobby at home simply hit me up on the email in description for a 5% link off the total furnace or burner price and if you’re interested in a look at some cool rings check out the link in the description where you will save 20% off there already discounted prices if you use my code. There is some awesome rings I guarantee you won’t be disappointed in their high quality😀.

A tip for those annoying voids that appear when casting copper: brush a bit of lamp-black (acetylene black powder) into the bottom of the mold before or after heating. It should help prevent those annoying oxidation voids that like to pop up in the copper as it pours.

GAAAAAHHH!!! You gotta warn a brother before hitting him with that level of cuteness first thing in the morning! You and that Adrock yahoo have given me some horrible ideas so I've gone and bought myself some kaowool, some refractory, an empty paint can, an extension hose for 1lb propane torches, and a melting dish. Now to watch some tutorials and figure out how to cobble it all together into something functional. Figure some beer can tabs are a good place to start experimenting with melting. In the meantime, I've got a dish to glaze with borax. Bonus fact: when you say "bacon" with a Jamaican accent, you're also saying "beer can" with an Australian accent.

Usually it's just the brushes that wear out, like 6-7 dollars to replace. My old welding shop would Chuck grinders once they stopped working and I'd get them out the dumpster after work. I have like 20 DeWalt and Makita, Fein, rigid etc grinders. All they needed were brushes. 4-1/2 to 7inch grinders. I never said anything if they have money to waste like that I'll take them and use them. To save space I've disassembled a handful of them to have spare parts completely. Switches, brush holders, gears, motors etc. I'll never run out of dwe402 11 amp grinders.

This is the most honorable way to say goodbye to your old tools. I wish I had the skills to do it as well.

I've come to the conclusion that this is the future. As natural resources deplete this may be the only way to get hold of such metals. I find this really interesting, I wish I had the funds to get set up so I could do the same.

Hi, nice melts and re-melts. I always note that the value for metal is higher in Australia than in the U.S.. So Ingot is going to have company, cool! That Texas Gal !!!
