When I started watching Bleach on Hulu, I looked at the episode list and decided to stay up late and finish the show because I only had 3 episodes left. I didn't realize they had it sorted into seasons and man was I surprised to see I only had finished season 2 of 26.

For the record, HxH isn’t actually cancelled, it’s just moving from Shonen Jump to accommodate a new release schedule. Togashi still has every intention of releasing more chapters and continuing the story.

For me, if we're counting the fall season, my anime of the year is a choice between SpyxFamily, Kaguya-Sama or Mob Psycho 100 season 3. Honourable mentions to Bocchi, Blue Lock, AoT final season part 2 -electric boogaloo- and Demon Slayer Entertainment District Arc

Connor is right about Spy X Family. As someone who read the manga up till later points, Yor barely gets any of the badass scenes in the series. Even Loid gets sidelined a bit too much sometimes, they basically just turn them into boring ass normal couples. Anya is the one that the author give too much attention to and also have a lot of chapters dedicated to her and that cringe rich kid. (That actually madee drop tha manga because ain't no way I'm interested in kid's romance)

The anine of the year for me would be Summer time rendering. The story is awesome,The characters are great,And the twist are really good. Chainsaw man for the obvious reason, I finished part 1 and loved it . Cyberpunk edge runners is also a great 1st place

I did kinda drop Spy X Family after a while in S2. Maybe I'll pick it back up but man, it got kinda boring imo. Like, cool, Loid's doing some spy stuff, Yor's now a housewife with the occasional assasin stuff and Anya's going to school, but like, that kinda gets old the numerous times I've seen it happen already.

Sometimes the expectations and approach to an anime really decides our overall review for an anime. In my case, I was actually looking for a romance manga,and then stumbled upon spy family manga.the premise seemed good and I only expected good communication and respect between the couple.well it's a different case now that I stayed for Anya.😅 Similarly, years back some Mikasa badass scene got recommended to me in KZbin,after watching it I really wanted to see aot as in the hopes of watching strong good female characters.well it did remain for sometime, but didn't live upto my expectations.but once again that's a different case as I remained for the story of aot😅

I'm glad Garnt is defending Attack on Titan, because it truly is at its peak rn where the entire story comes together and everything is finally perfectly making sense as the story that's been foreshadowed since the beginning (i.e. you can tell the story was supposed to be like this literally over 10 years ago now) and they're really not milking the story as it's almost an exact copy of the manga, and almost nothing more and nothing less, but they are baiting anime-only viewers with the titles FOR SURE lol

I think Cyberpunk Edgerunners was a "safe" choice for best anime; I won't argue against it. Maybe I'd pick Bleach or AOT. Spy x Family is above average at best. Connor gives the best criticism- one third of the main cast is entirely wasted. Not better than Kaguya, Summer Time Render, My Dress Up Darling, Chainsaw or Bocchi, etc. (If I'm missing something like Demon Slayer or Made in Abyss it's cos I haven't watched them yet.)

She is not wasted and you don't understand character development. Yor became an assassin to be able to raise her brother. Now her main goal is to protect Anya and the new family she has created. It wouldn't make sense for Yor to keep accepting assassination jobs. You just want mindless action because you share a single brain cell with Connor.

Why would her employer trust her to not (accidentally or intentionally) spill the beans if she casually decided to one day stop taking jobs? If my impression isn't the case that's fine, but the show is a) falsely advertised as the wife being a secret assassin and b) there is A LOT of dramatic storytelling left on the cutting room floor. I figured a big future plot would be Yor having to do jobs against her will and get tangled up in Loid's spy mission- like in Mr. and Mrs. Smith where they work in different agencies and are told to kill each other.

It's always obvious that it's anime onlies who criticize Spy x Family for not giving Yor stuff to do when she was literally the protagonist of the most memorable arc in the series so far which at this point still hasn't been adapted in the anime. Also, you clearly just have your own biases because you went into this show with your already preconceived expectations of what would happen in the plot with your comparison to Mr. and Mrs. Smith which is quite reductive and you've also already decided in your head how Yor's organization is structured even though that's still to be revealed

Instead of calling it trash, just because the shows wasn't in-your-face about the underlying plot that's going? Since most people seems to only watch it on the surface level, missing the whole plot and decided to reducded it to simply "enjoyable trash" I honestly cant remember any other isekai that's better than EiS in 2022 except Bookworm and Overlord. (Yes EiS is better than Shield Hero S2, Executioner and her ways of life is pretty unique as well, but not sure if it's as good as EiS)
