@muustyx Жыл бұрын
Okay but omg. Omg. Alayna naming her cat "Kitten" with a perfect French accent was already so cool, but at 19:26 and 19:28, the emphasis on the last sound (that got pointed out by Mak) is how Quebecers would pronounce it! It's a sound that we have but other francophones don't. Even French people mess it up when trying to speak with a Quebec accent. Also the episode 104 in WHGS in which she says "poutine" with, once again, an exclusively Québécois sound! I know Alayna has said that she speaks some French, but god please learn it fully (when you have time!) you would be SO SO good. 90% of my life happens in English so I don't really care about the language myself, but her ability to produce those sounds so easily is super impressive to me. (Oh also it kinda sounds like Quétaine, which is a Québécois word that means "Cheesy")

I've said this before a lot. I will literally judge someone based on how they treat and think about cats. A dog will love anyone who feeds it, a cat takes effort. I have 2 right now Storm and Io, but I have had many cats through life. Tiggy, Mooberry, Leeloo were mine that have passed on but I also spent a lot of time around my aunt and uncle's 6 cats, a mom and her litter.

The fish thing works! It does, I swear. It's worked for me every time I've done it. It's not just about saying, 'I'm not a fish.' That's part of it. I tell myself, 'I'm not a fish, I don't have gills. I'm breathing through my lungs.' And then I visualize my breath and how it allows my lungs to slowly expand. I get terrible hiccups that give me horrible headaches, and I've never had a trick work so well. It's a mental thing, so visualizing your breath is always helpful.

My senior baby that I had since I was 7 years old, passed away May 2021 and I cry over it daily still, and our next oldest cat passed away at the beginning of July. 18 and 11 yrs respectively. The episode title makes sense knowing that pet loss is a topic even briefly😔

Ok, I also have my cat's ashes and we are about to move states and I feel bad about putting her box into a cardboard box, so I'm legit planning to carry her in my purse for the drive! She has a lovely cherry box with an engraved nameplate (Zoomer). She was 19 when she passed a couple years ago and had already moved 1,500 miles with us when she was 4. We still have this little husky puppy toy that she loved and it was sitting on her box. We got a pair of kittens a couple months after she passed and yesterday one of them found the husky puppy toy and decided that was his to protect now. I like to think that our girl Zoomer let her brother know that things may be a bit crazy right now (there are packing boxes everywhere...), but they'll be fine! We realized that Zoomer had moved to 5 places with us in her life, so she was a pro at it!

Lol, I remember seeing somewhere that hickups are your diaphragm twitching? Much like any other muscle or your eyelid? I learned it is about completely stretching out your diaphragm for as long as possible, which is technically why all of your methods work🎉 if you have a charlie horse, you massage or stretch it out but in this case you can only stretch😊

In my many years of experience having cats what I have noticed is that male cats are more needy than females. It has always been the boys who would seek either me or my wife to get cuddles. The females would grace us with their presence drive by style to allow us to pet them so we would then leave them alone until they decided it was time for contact again. I have read once that the domesticated cat is the most viscous of all cats because when they kill something once it stops moving they loose interest. Where their larger cat cousins kill for food.

to get rid of the hiccups, i drink upside down. kinda hard to explain, but you get a glass of water, and instead of drinking normally putting the bottom of your mouth under the side of the glass closest to you, you do the opposite, which is to say put your top teeth on the outside of the part of the glass further away from you. from there you can't drink by tilting your head up, you have to lean down like you're bowing until you can tuck your chin in to tilt the glass and drink. very weird but very effective

Mak - don't wait for a house to get a dog! It's a trap. I have two dogs and almost an acre of land and they will NOT go out in it unless I am with them. If I leave them on a lead outside, or even stake them in the yard close by while I'm weeding, they bark the whole time.
