I tried to keep a travel journal and I miserably failed. I’ve walked a lot and my days were full of things to do and see and I didn’t have a moment to draw or write. And when I came to hotel I was so tired and just got sleep in minutes. I don’t know how you guys found the time to keep a travel journal. I’m jealous

i totally get you! i failed most times too lol - so far i could only keep a travel journal for Europe coz they serve food much slower there (so i paint while i wait in restaurants) and i generally got back to hotels earlier when i was there. But it's still kinda hard to keep it up haha. Most sketches in my journal are really rough so they took only about 10-15min and when i really don't have time i just do a collage with tickets and whatever i collected during the day.

Word of advice for your next trip, try and slow yourself down. Prioritize sitting in the park and sketching on some days. I found for me atleast this helped a ton with making sure I had time to document my trip the way I wanted to, and also made me appreciate the moments on just calm in travel. I’ve learned to become very fond of them
