I’m with Cole. Quiet is just fine when I’m driving. Husband likes to listen to sports. Our trip to the east led us to Maine. Beautiful state. Vermont. New Hampshire; beautiful.

I've been traveling full-time in a Van for years and its been a breeze with little to no setup or breakdown wherever I go.. i just turn the key and leave if you're in a Van. But recently I just picked up a toy hauler trailer so my son can caravan along with me, and carry tools & toys. Obviously there's pros & cons with either rig. I follow several VanLife KZbin channels, and I started following yours specifically because you're in travel trailer .. which I'm now setting up along with me Van that I love. I've watch several of your videos. Keep them coming. I'd love to see your channel grow.

We often think about the pros and cons of van life vs tow behind life! We love being able to unhook and take our truck on adventures while leaving our "home" at home. But there are definitely instances it would be less of a headache to just have a van. Thanks for watching & commenting!

Love the Chemex. Prob my favorite brewing device. A little fragile to take camping. Have you ever tried an Aero-Press or Clever Dripper? Both plastic, but make outstanding coffee. We usually take plastic pour-overs, but you guys certainly know your coffee!
@WorkinfortheWild2 жыл бұрын
Love my chemex. I had never used one but bought it for the RV. I used to just do standard drip coffee but obviously there's no room for that in our tiny camper. The pour over has been working really well and I have a safe place to store it on travel days! I haven't used aero-press or clever dripper...will have to check them out! Side note - Cole isn't a coffee drinker so I have free reign over what kind of device we have :)

Our travel days are 300 or less miles per day now that we are traveling a lot. We get out of the campground by 10 am and are in the new campground by 4pm. We don’t like driving at night and setting up the trailer at night is a pain too!
@WorkinfortheWild2 жыл бұрын
That's a good mileage to stick to! I think our days of driving at night are behind us, for the most park. It takes so much out of you, especially when you're living on the road!

Love how you two are keeping it real. What are your fave podcasts?
@WorkinfortheWild2 жыл бұрын
Oh I have a LOT! I'm typically a true crime fan but only if it's well done. Not a fan of true crime podcasts that just sound like gossip. Some of my favs: - Criminal - This is actually happening - Up and vanished - Ear Hustle - Your own backyard - Believed - Over my dead body (season 3 particularly) - Bear Brook Some others: I listen to NYT's The Daily almost every day. This American Life, Ted Talks Daily is sometimes good, National Park after dark has some good episodes. The list goes on! Love getting new recs, too!

Love your vids, question, why doesn’t Cole use the cordless drill to raise and lower the stabilizer jacks like he uses on the x chalks?
@WorkinfortheWild2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's just loud. We always feel like we're disturbing people around us when we use it so we just don't unless we're boondocking and there's nobody around us.

How do you plan out where you’re going?
@WorkinfortheWild2 жыл бұрын
It's about choosing places we want to see and making sure it makes sense with the weather/time of year. I have a general route in mind usually a couple months in advance but I personally don't plot out specific locations until much closer to the time we'll be visiting. If I'm booking reservations, I do it no more than a month in advance but usually 1-2 weeks in advance. We also need to make sure every place we visit has good enough cell signal to power our wifi hotspots for work.
@vaasnaad2 жыл бұрын
Do you guys have a specific tear down/set up routine? I don't yet travel in my RV, but when I do, I'm taking a page from piloting and having a physical checklist with a grease pen. Just wondering if you have any crutches as it were like that.
@WorkinfortheWild2 жыл бұрын
Ya know, we don't. I think I had a checklist on my phone for the first couple times but we move so much, at this point we have it down to a science. There are some days when Cole is busy with work I'll do the entire hook-up process myself. But most of the time it's what you see in the video. I secure everything inside while he gets the trailer hitched.
@timaz10662 жыл бұрын
Another good video! One of the reasons I love Boondocking is that I very rarely have to worry about a place to park to spend the night or a few days. But I am one of those people that tries to get off the road by three or 330 as it doesn’t always happen that way I still try. You two take care and be safe. I don’t know when you guys shot this video, but it should be pretty close to time of starting to head south. Just saying.
@WorkinfortheWild2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we love boondocking as well. Not as much free public land in this part of the country though! We won't be heading south for a while.
