The village of Slayley has its own community public house, The Rose & Crown which is a Grade 2 listed building and is set in the heart of the village. . It has been trading since the 17th century.The village from Town Head to Town Foot is approximately a mile in length and it stands some 750ft above sea level. Each August, Slaley plays host to Slaley Show.
