Great film Les. Skyscanner is the way to go. I then use the filters box to weed out the airlines I don’t like, set the duration time to a more acceptable total length of travel and check the kind of aircraft I’m flying on. Example, if you’re travelling in ‘business’ you can also check if the seat plan is 1-2-1. Even on your connecting flight. When I get to the list of cost options I always try and choose the actual airline rather than the other commercial booking companies. I then cross reference this with the actual cost on the airline website or app. I’ve found you can make changes easier to your flight booking with the airline direct. (Not that you want to be making any changes) I once had to amend a friend’s flight details. He had booked with a third party agent. When I contacted them they said to contact the airline with their reference number. The airline direct said the contract was with the travel company and they would not change anything about the ticket. Basically said buy a new ticket or travel. Just my thoughts and what I do. Good luck and best wishes.

@@RetiredandLivingthedream Well when you take that plunge and book the business flight Les, (which you are well overdue to) make sure you’re in a 1-2-1 seat configuration, especially if you’re flying alone. Then you can sit either on your own or with the misses, both of you will have aisle access. Some of the older aeroplanes like the A330’s have a 2-2-2 configuration not the same, ‘Business Class’ experience when you have to ask someone to move if you need the loo ! Safe trip back mate. Hope to catch up with you soon down here on the Gulf. Best wishes from me here in Bang Saray.

I, too, like skyscanner, l like the way it shows the prices for each day, etc. I just recently booked return flights from Australia to uk, but I didn't book through skyscanner. The airline I chose was emirates on skyscanner, but booking direct with them was a tiny saving. There were cheaper flights than emirates, but they involved long stops of up to 18 hours, etc. Also, beware skyscanner does not show options for the uk cheap carries such as Ryan Air, etc. The budget airlines, I guess, don't like paying commissions.
@michael-lt2lf3 ай бұрын
Don't forget. When you don't book directly with the Airline you loose a lot of rights with regard to bags going missing, no recompense for expenses if there are delays, etc... Look it up.
@blackadder19663 ай бұрын
Depends on the website. Some websites/agents buy tickets from the airline, and essentially, you buy it now from them . This is your contract with the website/agent. Buying directly from the airline websites means your contract is with the airline. Having travel insurance and using certain credit cards gives you more chances if things go pear-shaped. Skyscanner doesn't take you money or booking it's a travel search engine and passes you over to your chosen airline etc.

Good video but blimey, your journey to and from Bangkok is a lot of faff. 😳 Im from Newcastle living in Thailand and i always book via Turkey cause its a lot cheaper than to Dubai or London from Newcastle. Newcastle to Antalya £50, Antalya to Bangkok via UAE around £250ish depending on time of year. I have a few days in Antalya cause i love the place and it breaks up the journey. Easy! 🥳 I couldn't be bothered with long train journeys from London to the North East after a day of travelling, so i always fly back to Turkey then Newcastle. There's also buses and trains to Redcar from Newcastle way quicker and less hassle than from London 👍

Certain days during week is allways cheaper to fly and can save a few hundred pounds flying 2 week's diferent to your planed trip if you can be flexible.
