Here's my Iceland travel vlog! While there, I stayed in Reykjavik, but visited a few other parts of the country... so basically I tried to hit all the places Beyonce hit during her trip there :) because, you know, we're the same.

They are not racist in the Nordic countries. Racism/colorism is more prominent in countries with a history of slavery or cast systems. Many European countries are extremely sensitive and touchey about racism because of World War II. They pretty much overcompensate because hitler tried to call them the master race lol. It’s possible you might get people staring at you just a bit because they don’t see black people very often. However, a lot of tourists and expats say people from Iceland like to stare in general for no reason lol.

your fave fangirl- of course there is always gonna be racist people but they have less of a culture of institutionalized racism. In the US there are people that will end up in the ER and refuse to be cared for by a black nurse.

It held up pretty well! It did get wet at the Blue Lagoon and the waterfall. So I might recommend wearing a cute hat/turban/head wrap if you don't want it to get wet.

@@TM-123 Yes I did! Honestly it was one of the best experiences and best places I’ve ever seen💕 the people were friendly and I stayed in an airbnb. I recommend booking a tour to explore the further parts of Iceland as there is not much to do in the city centre Reykjavik as it’s very small. I booked a tour which took me from the city centre to Vík where they have the black sand beach, waterfalls and ice glaciers. I booked the tour through TripAdvisor so it’s all legit. Overall I really enjoyed it and I had a great experience solo travelling. I will definitely go back and would 10/10 recommend!

@@TM-123 No problem! I booked the tour with Trip Advisor. I always pick tours that have plenty of reviews, even if they aren’t all positive I just make sure there are at least 30 reviews from real people

Always keep you camera on hand (use the strap to keep it around your neck, on your shoulder)! The unexpected things make for the best footage so you don’t want to miss them because you can’t get to your camera quick enough. Hope that helps!

I definitely would like to visit Iceland sometime but this is what I was curious, was there any racist ghettoism or overall stupidity in any way because I'm definitely planning on travelling a lot but this was really the only place in Europe that interested me.

Hi there! My trip to Iceland was amazing. I didn't experience any racism/prejudice when I was there. I will say I did get some stares, but I honestly think that was more so because of the big hair haha. But honestly people do that in the states. I wouldn't say they're hospitality was just on a hundred (like it is when you go to the Caribbean or South America, etc.) but not racist/prejudice at all. Overall pretty cool people.
