I didn’t actually stay in Takayama! We stayed in nagoya and then did a day trip out to takayama then made our way to kanazawa on shuttle bus at the end of day! I have seen many people stay in the traditional housing but not sure about availability of airbnb with kitchen there sorry! Good luck 🤞
