There's a book I've just been reading which involves a murder in Hakodate, and much of it involves train timetables, and back at the time it was written (the 1950s) it took about 16 hours from Tokyo to Hakodate by train!

The stations are so clean! ❤ I love the way the staff bow 3:50 to the incoming Shinkansen ❤️ respect! 53 km under the ocean with WiFi? 😲 Only in Japan 😋 9:02 😘 the Shinkansen coupling, how cute! TG, thank you for the upload 🙂 PS: I'm super jealous of the food, snacks and beverages you have at your disposal 😭

Great trip. It's great on one route, you try various Shinkansen. Bit curious, is Yamabiko Shinkansen is equivalent with Kodama Shinkansen in Tokkaido Shinkansen? Since this Shinkansen stopped at all station? It's great you also try brand new E8 Shinkansen, similar like E5/H5 and E6, but with shorter nose.

That nose is optimized against wind compression in tunnels. That are long and numerous in Japan. Not as much of a problem for the TGV and ICE.
