Traveling Hawaii by Bike + Bus

We travelled The Big Island, Hawaii, for less than 2 weeks - not long enough to bike around the whole thing and still see the sights. But we didn't want to rent a car, so we figured out the Hele-On bus system! For more info, see this post: bromptoning.co...

Wow! You visited the big island! Palm trees and banyan trees are so beautiful. Nice! You can get Japanese bento style lunch there? Cool. I stayed in Oahu island for over a year before but never had a chance to visit other islands so this was very interesting for me! 👩🏻 More videos in Hawaii coming, yay!!! 🥳

Yes! We had the best rides in and around Hilo. Lots of waterfalls, caves and lava terrain. Coming soon! 🙂

How did you pack your Brompton’s for this trip to Hawaii?

We pack them in the old B-bags lined with cardboard for the airplane. For the big buses on The Big Island, we put the Bromptons in the B-bags too so they could go in the underside luggage area, but soon realized that the buses were never full of people so it was easier to simply carry the folded bikes onto the bus without the bag.
