So happy that you love our signature sambals. Sambal matah varies from original chilli and shallots to the more fragrant ones by adding lemongrass, or torch ginger flower (we call it "sambal kecicang"). Next you should also try sambal "uyah lengis" literally means salt and oil, with addition to fresh chilli and calamansi lime, it is a perfect companion to balinese roast chicken or fried mackerel. And sambal bongkot (torch ginger shoots), and sambal bawang matunu (roasted shallots sambal) are a must try as well! Please come back, Mark, we will show you other part of Bali deliciousness :D

Ooooh! I love saté! I miss it so much! I stayed at Villa Joglo way back in 2010 and got so addicted with saté. that I could eat it everyday. Hehehe....I miss Ubud, Bali with its relaxing surroundings, good food, and nice people! I remember I would get mistaken most of the time as a local when I was there because we Filipinos look similar like Indonesians. But the locals would find out after speaking with me that I couldn't understand nor reply in local language. 😄 I love Ubud! I'll return one day with my daughter, my mom, and my sisters. That would be lovely! ❤️

If you want to go to beautiful places with delicious food and attractive cultures. I will recommend you '10 new Bali' that our government is promoting! Those are.. 1. Danau Toba (north Sumatra) 2. Tanjung Kelayang (Belitung) 3. Tanjung lesung (Banten) 4. Pulau seribu or thousand islands (Jakarta) 5. Borobudur or biggest Buddhist temple in the world (Yogyakarta/central java) 6. Bromo (east Java) 7. Mandalika (NTB) 8. Komodo island or Labuan bajo 9. Wakatobi (Southeast Sulawesi) 10. Morotai (north Maluku/Moluccas) And Raja ampat (Papua), these are the best places in Indonesia.

Micha, sitting up at the table! Mark, you know you are going to have to revisit all these places with your son when he can remember visiting them? Multiple times. age 8 age 10 age 15 age 22. Very nice to recognise your driver, if you can, mention his name so people can ask for him. It's unfair to the other drivers but in the service industry, any help with a foot up can mean the world to these unsung heroes. I loved all the fountains and the Balinese architecture. It feels like a true paradise.
