I'm from the US and I visited Croatia and Bosnia in 2018 and it was breathtaking-- Albania is near the top of my travel list next. I was also supposed to go to North Macedonia in April but the lockdowns started and travel to Europe was banned.

I think next year the road will be finished. I'm Albanian and I've never been there. This road has always been one of the most inaccessible roads in the country and that is the reason why these Parks have remained pristine until today. Some foreign naturalists organisations suggested to let the road without asphalt, for fear that the new street will destroy the wilderness of the nature. Hope not.....

Actually we in albania make raki from quite all kinds of fruits,the sweetest the fruit the strongest raki is made and it doesn't give you headaches,because it's natural.

Albania is a hidden paradise in Europe. Stereotypes make it seem like its not a beautiful, good and safe country but its the entire opposite. Albania offers greek and croatian level beaches or even better, alps that rival the swiss ones but with a way cheaper cost. Incredible canyons, waterfalls, beautiful rivers, castles, ancient ruins, cultural heritage and etc. Albania also has 2 whole cities part of UNESCO World Heritage.

Tave me pistil. It is a dish with rabbit or any other meat and sour dried prunes. Another one is Tave Elbasani. It is made with yogurt, eggs, and either fresh young goat meat or chicken beef.

In bigger cities, most of the albanian women did not work but attended to cooking. Thus there are so many dishes that you can find only in Albanians households. It takes a lot of time to cook those dishes.

Haha. You know what our New comers Neighbors say. Albanians came from the mountains ⛰ haha. At fist like he said, some had to leave because of WARS, Some who stayed migrated to turkay. Even after, OTTOMANIA then came SLAVS, south. Thousands, just from Anatolia, there were over 2 million. Here in Graecia Greece. My Grandfathers never spoke this ne Anatolian GREEK language before. Interesting stories right? We are SHIPNIJAN. SIPHNIAN.

You origin must be from north albania as Spata means sword in albanian and it was used more from North Albanians. Albanians survived assimilation from all sides because they learnt how to live isolated on top of the mountains. My greatgrandfather and grandfather came from such mountains but they spoke more than 6 languages with ease. Living away from all makes them sound primitive but Albanians have proved how intelligent they are all around the world. There are famous scientists and even noble prize Albanians. Even american senators and the christian Pop. You should be proud of being of that origin.
