Number 1 tip , ladies : not only when around the world, but in your home country as well : do not get youtself into a DRUNKEN or DRUGGED state. It's already very bad if someone can seduce you out of your local club and steal your wallet or mobile phone, or rape you in an alley since you're hardly able to walk. But imagine this happening to you in a foreign country ! With your excruciating morning after : having to file a complaint at the police station, the stress, the humiliation, no more passport nor phone nor cash or your credit card scammed. The aids test at a hospital....It happened to my cousin in Pukhet. Never, ever, get drunk or high on drugs ; also nice guys, whatEver their nationality, are repelled by any girl reeking of beer and vomiting all over herself. Also drinks can be spiked, whereas a coke opened in front of you can't.

Loved your video! I do think that hotels are still worth the money, especially if you’re young and every dollar counts! I found a super nice, safe hostel in the center of Paris for the same price as one hotel, buuuut the hotel option was unsafe and worse quality than the hostel. If you like having silence and being alone, then it’s not for you, but hostels are great for solo travelers! Especially to possibly make a group of friends!

Hello there. Stumbled on this video when learning about Paris solo traveling. Are they really rude like I always hear? Also, if I may ask, how do they treat POC in general? I'm a POC and I don't want to encounter any racist people over there. Thank you in advance :)
@herlifestyletravel Жыл бұрын
Hey Doug! French people can seem kind of cold but they are really warm and friendly once you get to know them. If you have ever traveled in NYC, it's the same vibe. So they do come off a bit rude but it's just because they don't know you and that makes them a bit cautious. The best thing you can do is learn a bit of French. There are lots of POC in France, so you should expect some diversity. Enjoy your trip!

As a solo traveler how were you able to take photos of yourself? Did you use a tripod? I was thinking of that , but since pickpocketing is such a problem over there I was wondering if it was safe enough to use it or will it get snatched?

Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!

@herlifestyletravel2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jocelyn, I don't speak French and I didn’t have any issues, even when I got lost! France is very tourist-friendly so they cater to English speakers. All the important stuff is written in French and English. The #1 issue you are going to have is ordering from a menu since it will all be in French. You can use the google translate app to help you. Just hover over the menu and like magic, it will translate into English. The Google Translate app will be your BFF! I suggest you download it. Also, you can learn simple phrases like hello, please, thank you, and excuse me. And do worry, you won’t have a hard time finding French people that speak English, in case you need help. Trust me, you won’t have any issues just as long as you have a smartphone. I have a lot of people asking me this question so I’ll make a video about how to navigate France when you don’t speak French :) Good luck!
