Great topic. We have been trying to take each of our parents on trips with us occasionally. And they have been hesitant because of their health issues. But we want them to have some enjoyable experiences in however many years they have left and not just sit in their homes bored. So we have had to figure out how to customize the trip so they can enjoy themselves. It takes some adjustments but it certainly can be done. Thanks for sharing this topic with us!

Thanks Heather such a good subject matter to talk about. I had a full knee replacement a year ago feels pretty good the other knee isn't a %100 I don't walk as much as I should & hope to go to Europe next year but if I have to spend more when I am tired on a taxi or take a bus more then I will. I have to push myself now to not be afraid & enjoy my life while I can doesn't matter if I see everything or can't walk miles & miles there is other ways to get around & extra rest might be needed but better then no travelling.

How timely! My mom is having her second knee replacement next week. She said kind of the same thing, that she has been afraid to walk, and her world has become very small because of it. I really hope she gets out and about more after she has this surgery. The first one didn't seem to make much difference at all from what I could tell, except in eliminating pain.

Heather get a second opinion I just got back from the neurologist I also have the pain in my right butt. I have 4 pinch nerves beside the sciatica that I only get during the summer. Yes walk it helps a lot sitting and laying down can be very painful . Have fun on your trip. This is a very good subject especially when traveling .

Oh, I've had a second opinion! I've actually seen 9 different doctors about this problem and gotten nowhere. I have pretty much lost all confidence in the American health care system.

I agree with you to be honest it’s taken me from 2012 till recent to find out what I had .
