I've been to Nassau several times. Years back, the port was a sketchy gauntlet of aggressive cabbies and straw vendors. There were rotting old buildings on the waterfront. The vibe was shabby, and shadowed Nassau's charm. The new port looks modern and inviting. I'm looking forward to my next visit there. Nassau really has some fun historic and charming sites.

It's improving, probably going to take some more time but it's getting there. I'd love for the new amphitheatre thing to have some shows while ships are in port. A bit further out however, it's what you experienced before :). I would say we didnt feel pressured at least the last 2 times we were there. Happy Travels scbeachblone8836!

Love Nassau. Lots of colour, lots of character. Just say no to the vendors and keep walking, but be polite though as they are just trying to make a living and they have lots of competition. The last couple of port days there I went looking for the Tortola Rum Cake store just off the waterfront and it has closed☹️. Looking forward to the “manufactured Nassau” on our next cruise.

We totally agree. Everyone is trying to make a living and you can politely say no. Hopefully you can find your rum cake on your next trip :)

Hello, around the 2:30 - 2:40 minute mark there is footage of beach and activities, where is that located? Also, at 6:00, where is that pool located?

at 2:30 - 2:40 thats Costa Maya, Mexico. At 6:00 thats the Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas which you can enjoy even if you are not a hotel guest last we saw it. Hope that helps!

Not one of my favorite ports. Earlier this year, experienced very aggressive vendors and the area looked dumpy with lots of trash. With the new port expansion, I may get off and browse but I would still avoid leaving that area and wandering around Nassau.
