I drive a 2015 Ford F-250 super cab, 8' bed with a 6.2 LTR BOSS gas motor. I pull an 8000 Lb trailer loaded and I can still put my 850 lb Harley in the truck. It pulls and handles like a dream. If at some later date I want to tow a fifth wheel, I can still do that. (I'm just not ready to give up the bike) Ford builds the tow features you need into the truck and there's tons of options to suit your needs. Having spent a good portion if my life fixing driveline components in trucks I can say with some authority, buy bigger than what you need! The 150 Ecoboost is great but there's no extra power. Sure it'll tow that trailer but the kind of traveling you do you'll want a bigger truck and if you ever want to get a bigger trailer? You'll already have enough truck to pull it.
@mssixty34266 жыл бұрын
Right on! I had a 2005 Ford F-250 Diesel, pulled my 32' travel trailer with no problem, didn't seem to use much more fuel pulling the trailer than driving without it. Some of the best times of my life were driving through the lower Rocky Mountain chain with that combo and my family. Forgot to mention - it was a 4-door Crew Cab.

Get a toy hauler!
@fordfan31796 жыл бұрын
That's an argument I wish I had won with my Mrs. We walked through 100 toy haulers, she shot everyone down because she "didn't want a garage for a living room" The set up I have now works just as well. I have a self loading bike ramp I can use by myself. Most times if we go far I can always rent a bike for a few days rather than dragging the bike out with me.
@fordfan31796 жыл бұрын
The fuel is less or about the same as a motorhome so for us, it's negligible. Having the power when you need it and the muscle to pull bigger loads dependably and safely makes the fuel use worth it. What are you driving now Ms.Sixty
@TravelingRobert6 жыл бұрын
Are you sure we were driving the same truck? Besides raw power that was the worst vehicle I've ever had the displeasure of driving. No turning radius, horrible ergonomics, low and uncomfortable sea, hesitating throttle and transmission... I'm definitely not buying a Ford.

Hey Robert just re watching your video from when you had "Big White" 3 years ago (is it that long already?) and you were commenting on the toll roads in Pennsylvania, 2 years ago when we were last in Florida we bough an E Pass unit to put in the windscreen of our hire car because we had more than 1 car for the trip. Have you used one? All you need to do is register the plate of the car you're currently using on line and it works all over the US. We bought ours at a Publix store.
@charlestravis88156 жыл бұрын
We pulled a large u-haul trailer of family possessions from central FL to Middle TN with the new diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee. We never noticed we were towing a trailer coming up Tennessee’s Monteagle Mountain, it never slipped out of overdrive and still got the same 30 mpg we usually got without towing. I did need backing instructions with such a short trailer, though! You should seriously consider keeping that truck or one like it. One day you might get a bigger camper too!

@Soladaddy6 жыл бұрын
Mystery solved, lol. Bet the truck towed great on the highway, but backing and campground maneuvering would suffer from the longer wheelbase. The trailer tire wear, if only one, is either a loose bearing or bent spindle. Both are common. If the opposite tire wears oddly, then the axle is suspect. To add, I usually do my own car work, but have gotten lazy with age and have had Firestone do some work on my vehicles. A bearing went out after they replaced them and it was barely under warranty. They didn't hesitate to replace no cost to me.
