They are gorgeous Hilary love them all. I don't think it matters whether the papers are the same or different. Your tassels are fine. I would say that it you are using it as a travellers note book would you want a tassel on it if your taking it away with you. I think they are great and you are over thinking it.❤

Hi Hilary, good projects. My favourite is the one with the same paper. Your tassels are not scrappy. Adding several lengths of ribbon, even of the same colour, that can make them look more tasselly but it is still personal choice. I must have a go at making a travellers notebook, not done one before so thank you for the inspiration.
