Hong Kong is one of the most vibrant and efficient cities in the world. It is beautiful and extremely livable (if you're not claustrophobic, that is). It is my favorite Asian city up there with Tokyo, but Hong Kong is more multicultural and very English friendly (a lot of locals can speak English). If you do go back, please please go to Victoria Peak at night for probably the best skyline in the world. Hong Kong has amazing food, from street food to local dim sum and even Michelin star restaurants. Check it out!

I'm from HongKong and educated in UK AND Australia, welcome to my hometown! It's a big city like eastern New York in bigger version, we have 42% of our land is nature with islands mountains and coastlines, beaches. Best time to visit is January to February(Chinese New Year) or June (humid hot but not crowded compared to August)August to September is typhoon season. So get rid of typhoon seasons you will always enjoy nice blue skies and amazing sunset with delighting background.

A little tip from local, for the best view of the skyline, you should watch it from kowloon or go to the peak. if you want to walk around the HK island, take the star ferry not the metro, then you can enjoy the best view from both sides, and it is very cheap!
@melb41615 жыл бұрын
The Star ferries are the best!

Just come back from Hong kong today. The MTR and food is unbelievable compared to London. Personally I like Hong Kong way more than London. Believe me when I say London is boring compared to Hong Kong. The energy is incredible. Transport you can time your watch with. The range is incredible. You can go really cheap in terms of food and still get something absolutely delicious all the way to ridiculous prices. Space is at a absolute premium. Way more than London per square metre. What I like is the attitude fast, but still friendly. Shopping is off the hook. Go to Mong Kok and you will start to realise how busy it gets.

A tip on those Southeast Asian countries entry rules. When you are flying to Bali, Thailand, etc. and are going to be using a tourist visa, they want to know your return/exit flight, so they know you are leaving. They don't want people to overstay their tourist visa. So the best thing to do, if you don't really know where you want to go, is book a fully refundable ticket out of that country to anywhere. That way you have a return/exit ticket and that will allow you to enter the country. Then, when you check into the place you're staying, just cancel the return/exit flight. No loss of money from the fully refundable ticket and it allows you to go where you desire when you leave. Enjoy Bali!

Both are excellent choices! Both are fairly expensive cities, but I'd have to say that Tokyo would be more expensive than HK. As far as apprehensions about speaking English, either city would be fine. Most people speak English in both, and a lot of people speak excellent English!

Apart from tourist spot of the Peak to see the skyline in Hong Kong, you can also opt for an alternative and not-too-overcrowding place in Kowloon side (i.e. the Garden Hill). This place is also in central area of the city and also with really cool night views.

hi, how are you ! i am a hong konger ( i was borned , grew up , living and will die in hong kong ) , thanks for appreciating Hong Kong, however , it is a great different between visiting and living in HOng KOng, even me , i would like to say Hong Kong is very very beautiful and attractive city if i were a tourist.(as a tourist , i only appear in central, causeway bay , south district of hong kong island, lantau island ,sai kung ) however , if you were living here, you have to face many problems, such as your living is disturbed by chinamainland tourists , political agruement, ligh living index, super u;nreasonable rocket high rent but small living area, air pollution, grey sky (always ) becasuse of air polluction blowed from china, and our culture, ie, selfish behave .finally ,, again ,thank you very much, hope you visit our city again, before it falls, i think it is better to vist in winter ( from november to april ) becausse it is too hot in summer , best regrads

Thank you for the wonderful insight into Hong Kong you did such a great job even though you were exhausted. There were several amazing things that I observed. There was not one overweight person insight during your entire video, can you please explain have the wise and fit people have avoided the American lifestyle? I love the double decker buses they are so comfortable compared with the bouncy badly designed bendy bus. People can live so well and enjoyably in such a small area. I did not see any litter anywhere and zero graffiti, which shows that the population is respectful. You have done some effective marketing for the country's tourism.
