Following my last attempt to see Kennedy Ranges I manage to pick up a couple of days work near Gascoyne Junction before getting back out there to explore this small town and the eastern side of Kennedy Ranges including the beautiful Honeycomb Gorge!

Bloody amazing! I lived and worked at the Junction in 1967 with the road maintenance gang. Couldn't recognise where your culvert was, though. The old grader you showed was recovered and brought in to grace the new council office, it was driven by one Joe Carter and was powered by a camel team, I knew Joe, he had many stories to tell. The town is unrecognisable to what it was then. The Junction Hotel had rooms, sold beer, groceries, (limited) and was the fuel depot, it was nothing to park out front next to a light aircraft. It would take 12 months to complete the road maintenance circuit, heading out to Dairy Cr Station, to Dalgety Downs, Landor then north, doing all side roads, coming back through the Kennedys back to the Junction for Christmas, then doing the roads south of the Junction. Mt Augustus was just a cattle station managed by one Dudley Farrer, Dudley was a well known character of the area. Incredible what the old place has become!

Legend mate! From what I’ve read almost everything was lost in the 2010 floods, being a full rebuild for the town! The works we were on was around 40km east of town and I wish I could’ve filmed in the pub the night before but they had a lot of photos of the old town/pub showing what it was like!

Your videos of Australias outback are very good. I like the fact that you take time to view, film old relicks, buildings, history and include drone footage. Thanks!

@JS_Adventure

Cheers! You’ll be fine with an off road camper! The trickiest part is the soft sand of the river crossing when you are towing other than that it’s all relatively easy just some parts are rocky and slow moving

Not of the top of my head as haven’t really camped along there, but certainly on the eastern cliffs and I believe Mooka Springs has some great shady spots right next to the springs also with mookanite rocks around he area

Great video mate. Got a question, did you head North via Ullawarra Rd to get to Mt Augustus or South via Gascoyne Junction? We're planning a similar trip in the future. Cheers
@JS_Adventure
