Dear Russel, I have been watching most of you videos for quite some time now. City of Moscow and Moscow Capital Region both are so beautiful. Only one thing I notice in these areas are lack of green coverage. The Corporation, Municipal and Civic Authorities must focus on planting more and more trees, which are compatible to the climatic conditions in Moscow. This would reduce Air, dust and sound pollution and improve the air quality in Moscow.

I'm British, and Moscow City reminds me of Canary Wharf, which just arose out of nowhere and completely changed an old, worn-down area! It's interesting who will be living there though. I noticed that most signs in the 'Garden Quater' were in English and didn't even have any signs in Russian whatsoever. Seems like there is a lot of gentrification going on. I'm guessing a lot of the investment is coming from rich Russians who can no longer invest in the West, or perhaps many new investors Russia has aligned with from BRICS countries and in Russia's clear pivot to the East! The development is quite extraordinary all over Russia. It almost feels like the new '"Land of Opportunities!" It might be very interesting to discuss more of this in your future videos of these modern areas. districts similar to you're your fantastic videos in more traditional Russia about the locals, cultural nuances, changes, foreigners influence etc. It is so insightful! The 'Rockefeller' Plaza does seem to be a little hint though! Appreciate the good work! 👍

All along the river side new apartments, cycle lanes, offices and so on are being built. Some of the apartments in Moscow look great but my only issue with new builds is the sound proofing. I'm not sure what the building standards in Russia is like but here in Scotland, new builds tend to have awful soundproofing.

Moscow is producing a very impressive amount of new buildings. And of very good quality too. I like how Russell has also homed in on what is happening at street level. This part of a new block often takes time to develop. But it's great to see this happening already. This is what turns districts from "housing" into "homes". Hopefully Moscow will be a great success story in this area. With shops, recreational centres, bars, cafes, gyms, green areas etc all producing warm, vibrant, happy, safe neighbourhoods across the city both near to and further from the centre. All too often the West thinks about profit at all costs and completely ignores what makes a place good to live.

Russell , I like the market at the end of the video. The Garden City is not bad looking at all. I'm sure in the summer with people spending time outdoors it will be a nice destination place, but im not a person that can live in a high rise , skyscraper building such as this place. If i had to choose give me a small 2 to 4 story apartment building with stone hand crafted exterior with lots of designs and big windows. The type of buildings from the 1890s- 1930s that you see in the old Moscow or the old European Capitals

Schools are a little tricky to film in or around, obviously, with children there. I did visit a private school back when i started the channel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmjJe4qLe5Kola8

Doesn't the river freeze in the winter? In Finland rivers and even the sea are frozen
@TravellingwithRussell15 күн бұрын
Some parts of the river freeze, it depends on the depth of the water. I did film a video on the electric river tram in winter, so show it operating year-round. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWrMgnaYeaySbJo

The first couple minutes the embankment area reminds me of the Hoboken NJ and West side of Manhattan area. You have these new luxury apartments risong up gentrification next to the lower income older buildings. No different than NYC Metropolitan area.

17:00 I don't think these elevators were added later, those are older buildings with elevators built that way right away.

I see nice, clean, safe neighborhoods. I am curious on what they do with the 30 plus year old apartment buildings when they want to rebuild and modernize the area. Seems like Russia has be going through a major rebuilding phase in their bigger cities. Do you see this type of modernization in smaller towns as well ?
@oscarpetersson532415 күн бұрын
Smaller town are usually extremely dependent on the governor and residents. There are museum-like towns and towns that are borderline stuck in the 90s. Pretty much like in the US.
