I’m Laotian but now I live in New Zealand. Thank you for traveling to Laos. Laos is a small country That is little known and Laos people, they are very shy especially people live in small village or small town. ☺️ You did a nice vlog I just subscribe. I want to introduce you to watching classical Laos song on KZbin: Tingnoinoi. They are young people who keep Laos classic alive and all of them from Luang Prabang. Thank you again🙏 Hope you come to Laos again I’m waiting to see your vlog in Laos again 😊

Very nice to see how Luang Prabang actually is in rainy season!!! Do you suggest to not go in July-August? Unfortunately it is the only time I can go. Is it really miserable or is there some beauty anyway? thanks for all your informative videos
@TravelsonToast2 жыл бұрын
We arrived there mid July and left in October, we still had beautiful hot sunny weather and were still able to visit all the waterfalls. It's still a great time to visit, there was only a week or two in August time when it was raining nearly every day, but for the most part it is still not so bad. Usually when you wake up in the morning and look at the sky you will know what kind of day to expect to make a plan for the day 😅

Just a comment in relation to you saying it is sad to see kids selling goods on the street next to grand houses. It absolutely is. But inexcusable levels of inequality exist in most countries, even though the dichotomy between poor and rich is so blatant here. I feel equally sad when I return to the UK and see the growing number of homeless people sleeping rough on the streets in a so-called developed nation. In developing countries, poverty is evident/manifested in ways that match our ‘traditional’ image of it (shacks, lack of household facilities, selling goods on the street, basic clothing etc), so we feel that it is terribly sad that conditions are so basic. But while urban poverty in a developed country is less immediately obvious, in some ways it can be even worse. At least here the poor often have access to land, can grow their own food, keep animals, sell produce and barter for other stuff they need. Poverty here also isn’t as isolating in the same way as urban poverty often is, as helping each other out is a way of life in communities and villages throughout Laos.
@TravelsonToast4 жыл бұрын
Yes we are also from the UK and know what it's like there, there is poverty in any country you visit but it just manifests in different ways. Thanks for watching!
