Microfiber towels!! We use them on the beach because the sand shakes right off! We use them in the shower because they dry so quickly! They take up no space, come in many sizes, have hooks for hanging, and are definitely the way to go in the camper. Amazon sells many different brands.

Patrick, great info and ideas! We recently traveled from our Michigan home to Virginia Beach with our granddaughter. She uses her iPhone with Apple Maps. We use a Garmin GPS when we travel. So it was interesting to see how the two compared. We used our iPhone connected to our GMC when we made a trip to a blueberry farm along Lake Michigan. And on the way back, we used our Garmin GPS. Although the iPhone did well we do prefer the Garmin GPS. It may be just a case that it is what we are used to. The main thing I have to say about any GPS system is that they are not fool proof! You should always have an idea of your route. They have lead me astray many times but I blame that on me because I know how to read a may and I didn't take the time to check it out. Good to have you near by again. Good luck Patty with your new teaching grade and have a great year Patrick! Give the pups a pat on the head for me!

My favorite changes include buying a Moonshade awning, adding a TPMS, and setting up a standing desk. When I’m on the road during the week, I need to look at documents and be on Zoom calls. My MacBook wasn’t cutting it, so I bought an external monitor and a stool, and now I can use the counters by my front windows for a standing desk. I lift my MacBook up using a Nextstand, so it gets air and can adjust to work as a second monitor. The best part? The stand folds down really small.

Good video. Thanks! We opted to go with microfiber towels. Not only do they dry quickly, but Ellen says they dry her hair much faster. We also opted for a small fan (Costco Woozoo) for air circulation and a small dehumidifier. As far as a GPS, we stayed with a standard Garmin GPS because, in the Southwest, most roads are open and easy to navigate for RVs. If we travel east, we’ll probably need to spring for a dedicated RV or truck GPS or use a trucker GPS app with an LTE-enabled tablet.

Brilliant and simple solution for sharp edges. I’m stealing that. We modified the bed platform in our travel trailer from a east/west configuration to a north/south using 1/4” plywood. The edges and age deteriorated the covers of the original cushions. Not perfect by any means, once the bed is made there’s very little moving around space, but we hated the climbing over each other to go to the head in the middle of the night. Eventually we’ll buy the travel trailer with the floor plan we want.

New York and the GW are horrible to drive through without a trailer. I was so panicked about towing that I bought the Garmin 890 before I even picked up my T@B. That was a mistake because I also had a rearview camera installed and I needed all my windshield space for that unit, which I can't seem to link through my in dash camera. I'm not a tech wizard but neither am I inept and no matter how much I play with it(mock trip planning etc.) It still feels like it has too much stuff going on. Not totally intuitive. I haven't used it on any of my trips...expensive mistake at this point. Enjoyed the video!

I have two Garmin gps’s one is from 2005, and is very good. The other is a LMT 580 I’ve have had for a couple years. Although it is a truck gps it can do the same nav for RV use. I have been very disappointed with my newer garmin as compared to the simple little non truck unit I’ve had for 15 years. One caveat I’ll add is I’m a truck driver and am very familiar with our nations highways and cities so I use the gps as a tool, and not a reliance as I still use maps. The routing even with parameters set has been my biggest complaint just as you went down the worst corridor in the East Coast, and the Garmin sent you that way it didn’t necessarily have to have been that way, my old Garmin would have, under simple choice selection of alternative routes, directed me away from the 95 GWB corridor. In the future I might suggest just consulting a good old paper map and visually see the different routes available and customize the gps, especially in the Northeast it will pay off big in the future I just have had poor luck with this gps.

Hi Yvonne! I think ours felt firm the first few times we used it because it was last winter when it was cold out. The foam tends to be more firm when it gets cold and camping in the winter, the trailer is much colder. This summer, it was perfect for us. We prefer a softer mattress. I’d recommend taking their advice. They have been great in helping us pick out our mattresses for our sleep style. We now have their mattresses in both the RV and at home. Hope that helps some.
