We have a 2017 1995 model and we just finished with some of the same mods you discuss in this video. Added the Bluetti 200Max to the 2 lithiums we upgraded to. Have 2-190 watt panels also. Installed the soft start for the AC since we have a Honda 2000 gen. Also replaced the Fantastic fan with a Maxair then moved the Fantastic to the bathroom. We've done very similar storage mods as well. We have the ProPride hitch behind a Tundra also as another commenter mentioned. Love that thing. In Colorado and leaving in a week or so for a couple months in Idaho/Wyoming and Montana. Thought it was interesting we have both made very similar decisions. I would say great minds think alike but I'm not sure I measure up. Happy times on your upcoming trip.

We have a 190 watt go power solar panel and 2, 6 volt agm batteries, also a soft start on our ac. I discovered my hair looks ok for camping by air drying so not too concerned about the hair dryer. But then, I'm not doing KZbin videos either😁 we have the max air fan with the thermostat too, but just a rain cover on our bathroom fan.

We have a 2019 Lance 2375 towed with out 2014 Tundra. We were very concerned with tongue weight and how it affected sway. We were using an equalizer hitch which was ok but didn't eliminate sway. Out west on the highway with those semi's still made for some white knuckle moments. After much research and some price consternation we purchased a Propride hitch. Should have done it years ago we now experience zero sway and a much smoother ride. It's almost like driving in our car now, except for the weight and mileage. We have 500 watts of solar and two lithium batteries. Have a third battery on order. All batteries have Bluetooth so I know exactly what's going on. Sie note: I discovered my batteries weren't discharging or charging evenly. Your equipment will draw power from the closest source first if the wiring between the batteries isn't the same gauge and lenth. Also you need to hook the negative to one battery and the positive to the other. I'm moving all batteries under the bed which will fix the problem. Just upgraded from 2200 watt inverter to Renogy 3000 watt. Good luck on your summer adventure. Gerry from New Hampshire.

My biggest game changer modification was our Brita faucet filter. Works with shore water and tank water (that is overly sanitized and not drained properly). I save weight by not hauling bottles or gallons of extra water. That blue thingy doesn't do crap. Proof is the dog approval.

My big modification was to add a desk so that I could work remotely during a 33-day camping trip. I travel solo and am only 5’2” tall, so I decided I didn’t need the queen bed. I removed the storage platform under the bed and ordered a custom mattress from Mattress Insider to fit the remaining bed platform. I put in a small desk with two 24” monitors that I can secure easily for travel. I still have a jackknife sofa if I ever want to bring a friend, and I can remove the desk and put the rest of the bed platform back in if I ever decide to sell the trailer. It worked great! Now I just need to do the solar upgrade.

I full time in a 2021 Lance 1995. I haven’t made too many upgrades. The mattress is a no brainer. OEM RV mattresses are not so good. I took the memory foam mattress from my old trail which wasn’t that old and put it in the new trailer. I put snap pads on the stabilizer jacks. These things are great. There’s no need to put blocks of wood or RV lego under the jacks. I really haven’t done any boondocking. I do have two Interstate lead acid batteries which are good for overnight. How do you feel about AGM batteries. I really can’t justify the cost of a lithium battery upgrade. I don’t have solar on the roof so I was thinking of a portable solar panel and 2 AGM batteries. I really don’t plan to stay off grid for more than a weekend and won’t use any AC appliances. I may buy the Honda generator as a backup which is a good idea even when plugged into shore power as power grids around the country are suffering. Especially here in California.

Our 2021 Flagstaff Micro 25BRDS is new to us and we are taking it out for the 4th time in 4 months (to 4 different states - LA, MS, AL & FL). Our tongue weight from the factory was already over 700 lbs., therefore, we too got the Andersen no-sway weight distribution hitch, and we love it. Our unit also came with a TPMS & Good year Endurance tires from the factory, so that was 2 less things to worry about. No upgrades yet, but we did get the Furrion back up camera and Garmin RV890 GPS.

Thanks for all your ideas. We've had our Lance 2185 since 2016. Great trailer and very durable. Minor modifications made include adding 12v receptacles under the night stands on each side (Lance made this very easy with the way they installed their bus bars on the frame) and adding more hooks for jackets. We also carry a portable Indel B fridge for all our drinks so we can stock up more on fridge items. I recently replaced the original 12v, Group 24 batteries with 6v golf cart batteries. Our year has the outside storage for batteries behind the propane tanks and we camp in freezing temps sometimes so Lithium batteries are a no-go unless we move them into a storage area. I also recently replaced all the capacitors in the AC when it stopped working and added the easy start kit. Biggest bummer about the AC is how loud it is when in the trailer. Another gripe I have is the 14" tires that came with it. The clearance is so tight between the axles that I haven't found a way to go to 15". Selection is very limited on 14" tires. When I replaced the stock tires, I found a good load range D tire and I'm happy with them, but did I see your tire pressures indicate you're running a load range E tire?

Great to hear got an Anderson hitch - I have it and love it! A tip from my experience, try to have your truck straight on with the travel trailer when you disconnect the hitch (at least as straight as possible). Because the anti-sway brake liner is built right into the ball it is very hard to rotate it to attach the chains when reconnecting if you disconnected with the hitch when the truck was at much of an angle compared to the trailer. Sometimes this isn't possible so the tip then is to try and angle your truck at the same angle you had it when you disconnected when arriving at your site. Sometimes I'll take a picture of that angle before disconnecting to help with this. My family loves the hitch for how much quieter it is than the one we had before. Enjoy!

We just replaced the roof seal tape on our Lance 2019, 1995 trailer. While having some work done on our trailer at Wagner rv in Falling Water WV the technician pointed out that 2018 thru 2020 Lance used a tape system that has the possibility of catastrophic failure, they'd been advised. So we went ahead and had the traditional sealant that all rvs have. Sadly, our big trip to the Canadian Rockies had to be canceled and all our reservations, because the husband of our friend we were going to travel with found out he had a leaky heart valve and would need to have it replaced, hence the need to stay near their home. We all hike alot, they more than us, and hiking was also out of the question. Canada, kindly we hope refunding our park passes, and all our other reservations like going to the sun rd, and campsites have been canceled and refunded. Oh well, maybe next year. Hopefully gas will cost less then too.

Good video as usual. I ended up buying a Rockwood 2109s instead of the 1985 Lance. The reason - the dealer could not assure me of a delivery date from Lance who ran out of ovens! The Rockwood is very much like the 1995 Lance and I love it so far. It was a lot less expensive and yet, the build quality seems to be very good. I had many options installed including 380 watts solar, an Easy Start on the AC, a 2nd Maxx Air fan, an MPPT Solar Controller, and I move my two 120 AH Expion Lithium's over the the new unit. We have a 2021 Lance 1995 and I a considering a generator. Can you tell me if the Honda EU2200I fits in the generator storage compartment of the 1985? I would think both of these models would have the same size generator storage compartment. I also installed two 100 Ah Lithium batteries, but I mounted them in the cabinet under the sink and wired them directly to the power distribution center. I installed a 1000W PSW inverter in the cavity behind the return air duct (beneath the refrigerator). With this arrangement the wire run from the batteries to the power distribution center and the inverter is only a few feet, rather than the 15+ foot run (estimate) between the battery compartments and the power distribution center. This also puts the batteries in a heated space, so if the temperature outside drops below 32 I can still charge the batteries as long as I am running the heater. I made a few other mods specific to the 1995 and might make my own video showing what I have done. Or if we cross paths on the road, perhaps I could do a "guest segment" on your channel! Thanks for your videos, I have watched quite a few and have enjoyed them all.

Off topic sorry. Would like to know what the truck weighs in at now that you added more gear and the trailer. I have a tundra and am looking at a lance like yours. Thanks

We weighted in at a total of 13,000# this summer. I don't recall the two individual weights. Tongue weight I remember was around 900#

How did you run that extension cord up to the area above the sink? We’re still waiting on out 2295 to arrive.

How many monitors do you have when you are towing? We have a TPM system monitor, and a backup camera monitor on our Lance. Our dash is getting crowded!

Our backup camera monitor clips over our rear view mirror which I love. We too also have the TPMS but I have located that down on our counsel because the GPS takes up a bit of space. The TPMS makes noises if something is wrong so I figure I don’t need it in my direct sight.

Where did princess craft put the inverter when they installed it for you? My wife and I purchased a 2021 1985 and I'm debating on the best place to put the inverter.

They installed ours in the outdoor storage compartment at the back of the trailer where the access panel is to the water heater. It works well in there. I only wish I would have had them move the batteries back there as well to reduce the wiring from the batteries to the inverter,

I’ve talked to you about your Tacoma before and we are thinking about Lance here in the future. I have a Tacoma and was wondering why you changed to a Tundra when the Tacoma was towing your Lance well? Were the mountains too much for the truck or the wear too much? Thanks
@TravelswithDelaney
@TravelswithDelaney 3 жыл бұрын
We knew or we thought we were right at the edge of the Tacoma's limits with the new Lance. It towed fine the first couple of trips but when we found out that the tongue weight was way over what Lance said, it meant we were way over on the Tacoma's tongue rating. The Tundra just feels more in control than the Tacoma did as well.

@@TravelswithDelaney I appreciate the info. I figured that size was just pushing the limits. I’ve talked to a few guys that have the 1685 and they feel it is a good fit. Would you agree? We just sold our WB View and was looking at something not so complicated and expensive.

Hello, I have a 2020 Lance 2445 (purchased in May of 2020) and just recognized today that a couple of seals on the roof need repair. Not the long straight ones but the ones around the ladder and vents. Have you checked yours? Also, are you happy with your friction hinge door? Thank you

How would a dash of unsweetened oat, or Almond milk affect your fast please? Let’s say a tablespoon of it.

Please get a lapel mic. Your audio has little consistency, which makes your videos hard to watch. Good content, bad audio.

Your comment about moving the weight to the rear is a little scary. Here is a demo video that shows why you should not have too much weight on the rear. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJ66kJqwmc1pqtE Though you weighed your hitch weight unhitched from the tow vehicle it does not represent what the actual weight would be if you have a properly setup weight distribution hitch, it should be lower. Stay Safe and enjoy your trip.

It’s all about weight distribution. If you have too much weight in the front or the rear, it can be an issue. Balance is the key
