Farmed Atlantic Salmon. I used to work at a fish farm. Its even better if you get it caught wild and do this yourself. Imagine fresh caught Spring or coho salmon. They farm atlantic salmon because out of all the other species of salmon, atlantics grow the fastest. It already cost an arm and a leg to raise any fish, but atlantic salmon are cost efficient.

No it's not. I see so many faults going on over here. One thing is 2 places i emediatly saw where listeria will occur sometime sooner or later. And look at how much meat still on the bone. To much brine left after smoking you can see how much of it is on the table. Should be near to nothing

В Норвегии на фермах подкармливают биодобавками и Норвежцы такую рыбу не едят, а отправляют в Россию.

@Николай Игнатенко, если кормят биодобавками, то это не есть "дикая "рыба или мясо. Есть пруды в которых карпа кормят комбикормом и рядом без кормежки, то это земля и небо. Не может дикая рыба с малька превратиться в товарную рыбу весом 5-10 кг. за 3-и месяца. А доморощенная может. Если вы не специалист, то не надо вводить в заблуждение других.

They appear to make smoked salmon very differently in the US. First of all brining - in Europe the fish is usually salted - and then absolutely no sign of a smoker in the entire process. I'd like to try the end result to see how different it actually is in the end.

@@samsonli9490 Smoked salmon in the UK is salted for 10-12 hours to cure it and then typically hung in a smoking room over smouldering wood chips (usually oak or beech) for a minimum of 24hrs. The fish in this video were prepared in a different way from this and showed no sign of having been exposed to smoke. Perhaps they missed that part out from the final cut.

This is brined in salt water, dried and cut. It's called lox. No smoke.

@@priesty4783 I smoke my own salmon here in alaska I use sockeye (firmer flesh) I put enough salt in water to float a potato then place the fillets in the brine for about 20 minutes then I place the fillets on a sheet pan and place them in the fridge for 12-24 hours then I place them in the smoker for about 3-5 hours (depending on how much smoke you want) I use alder because it brings no flavor but smoke to the fish cut into pieces vaccum seal and it can keep in the fridge for about a month unopened a week once you open the package or drop into freezer for a year or so ...but that is just oe way another is to follow the above then before it hits the smoker brush honey on it and roll it in brown sugar it is called squaw candy if you try this let me know how it turned out and how you like it

You appear to have missed the giant room that they put the salmon in to be smoked. They are not willing to divulge the process that they use, obviously. I'm not sure where the uncertainty comes from. The salmon are smoked, obviously, and people enjoy them. No mystery.

@@dv_igorn_27rus82 внимательно смотри. Там камера сушки после ванн и камера для копчения. Камера сушки нужна ибо дым на мокрое "не садится". Они холодным копчением коптят, слегка придавая вкус и запах дыма. У них как у нас ядренно не коптят, запрещено, не полезно))

@@igors.787 а Африка голодает)) я говорю за рациональное использование. А не заставляю их все есть) обрезки собирать и отдельно продавать по дешёвке лучше чем выкидывать в мусор. Те же головы и плавники спокойно на уху идут либо можно высушить и перемолоть на рыбную муку и опять скормить подрастающим лососевым на фермах.

Sieht man schon an der Farbe , wie in den schottischen Zuchtstationen . Der Kunde gibt bei der Bestellung über ein Farbkatalog an welche Fleischfarbe er wünscht , danach wird das Futter festgelegt . Ich esse schon lange kein Fisch mehr aus Aquafarming .

I love these videos however i would like to have a some comments on screen regarding what they're doing. Like the process or ingredients. In the beginning the cemera panned over 25kg bags of salt while the tubs where filled. That should be plenty to inform you that they indeed use brine.

It's one thing to see what they're doing but knowing is different. What else is in the brine? Just water and salt? These are smoke so what type of wood and temperatures? Anything would be nice to know.

From those “waste” barrels, I wouldn’t be surprised if the fish heads and bones are not sold to a food processing company that makes fish stock, or mechanically removes the remaining meat for salmon paste, or makes catfood. Just a guess. Maybe someone could find them valuable enough to retain.

yea they're discarding a lot of good parts of the fish. I hope none of that is going to waste.

@@jfuite Can confirm. I am a Butcher and our bone barrels, which are just fat and bones or glands or tendons or any stuff which may not be edible, are picked up by an outsourced company. The fat is usually melted down and used for cosmetics and other applications while the bones are typically ground up and used for animal feed.

I think there’s some value in having it at this “relaxing ASMR” style length/edit. This should be seen as less a “how it’s made” with a tight 3 minute edit and a voiceover. And instead it’s a “inside a factory” video with the noises constantly from the background.

@@jazzblues5894 тилапия вообще живет практически в каналюге и кормят ее дерьмом, с чего бы им выращивать где-то в море эту рыбу? Пруд какой-нибудь, и любое дерьмо, которое эта рыба не отказывается есть
