What a LOVELY video this was.I have never been down this street. You are motivating me to get off of my sofa and get on a plane. Egypt does need a month minimum. It is so rich in history. It is like going back in time. Very modern in some places {6th of October} but ancient in others. As a solo female i had no problems at all. Took cabs alone. Felt very safe. I dress conservatively in general. Unless you are at the beach that is what is best. Chris you need to go back to Egypt and experience the coral in the Red Sea and the white powder sand. The islamic architecture is stunning & unique. How wonderful to just walk around & soak up the local culture as people go about their day 😊.

My mom & I got back from Egypt back in September. We’re from Singapore 🇸🇬 by the way. We were greeted by the same man (at 27:27). He was helpful, no hard selling. He just wanted to share the things he’s selling. Offered my mom to cool down in his shop. It was so hot in September tho. Nice to see him on here!

So, normally I travel solo. Sometimes with a friend. But when I got to Egypt this October I am doing it as part of a tour. I was too nervous to do solo as a woman for the first time but I want to see the pyramids, among other things. I was terrified and excited after booking but your videos have made me feel more excited. Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate it

The best hotel to stay in Alexandria is called "Sunshine" the night with breakfast costs around 3000 Egy Pounds, or Hotel Palestine (but I don't know how much does it cost now) if you go there you have to visit the royal palace in Al-Montazah, it still holds so much of the old glory of the city.

Binged your Egypt series and loved it all. Reminds me of home, considering I've been living in Florida for over ten years now. One correction regarding the churches, they are all Coptic. It's a denomination unique to Egypt, and probably the oldest sect of Christianity still active in the world. It might be too late, but I recommend speaking a bit slower as the American accent can be too fast for even English-speaking Egyptians. Also, when asked where you're from, don't say US. Just say America (Amrika) and they will understand, though don't expect them to know the states lol. If you are interested in a lone woman traveler's opinion of Egypt, then I would like to give a shoutout to Giselle (Gigi) of Gventures (her YT channel name). I would link her channel, but I don't think that would be polite

This reminds me of the open-air markets in Marrakech, except Marrakech is far more claustrophobic. During my travels, I was young and invincible. I usually went where angels fear to tread. But that doesn’t mean I was careless. There were places and alleys I knew not to go. Also, being much younger, I could run like a gazelle (LOL). I traveled a lot on trains. They were cheap and reliable. There were two classes … first class and goat and chicken class. By the way, did you ever replace your broken backpack? Larry from Texas

If you got price down to 300 pounds for the camel, that would've been better. It is handcarved so a lot of time goes into it. Plus look at it as a form of charity ❤ usually when you see Muslim women selling on street corners that means financial situation at home is very dire, they can also be widows raising a bunch of orphans.
