I feel like all major artists use bots for streams. That is why I really don't take Billboard seriously. I also think that artists and record labels buy awards at award shows for hype as a marketing strategy.

When it comes to marketing, perception is reality. Celebrities and authors buy their own books from the store all the time just to become best-selling authors so they can leverage that to obtain other opportunities. Nothing happens organically. That's a rookie mistake. All the big celebrities you know are gaming the system. Sitting there laughing at them whiles they make an insane amount of money is silly. Anything to get to that money. Don't be slow

Yeah its social proof cheat code. The bots don’t mean shit, you don’t gain from those streams what you spend. The thing is, now, when you wanna open for an artist who has a real following and you have 8,000 followers and good streams. They will take you more serious. Same goes for blogs, radio, etc, its the access the number provides. Not only that, but when you use an ad, and a fan sees 3 likes, they are instantly gonna write you into a hole of “SoundCloud rapper” that’s really hard to climb out. When you got 18,000 views and maybe that one rapper who took you serious and has a blue check mark in your comments. Now they go “this is a culture I am seeing” and THAT creates value. They don’t want your song, I mean to an extent of course they do, but for low key artists what they want is a vibe, and an experience. They want to be in the “lit” group. “Ayo come to this club, I got this rapper you may vaguely be aware of, and 17,000 likes, plus your homeboy who has also seen my stuff liked it too” Now you have social credit. AND when you combine that with access from the industry taking you more serious, it’s on you then to make ir seem real. Cant overplay your hand of course, you gotta do small ass venues and if you can get 50 people in a tiny venue it’ll still feel real. Then its even more underground and legit. If you promise a venue that can fill 400 that you can sell it out and you have thousands of followers and only 50 people come out, the charade is up. Don’t rush it, get a solid 1,000 locally first before you really amp shit up. If you use the mirage to get 1,000 real people who stream and come to shows. Now baby you gotta stew on the oven. You can pack a local venue now and your access shoots through the roof. If you can pack a venue in a city you can open, you can get access to blogs, radio, and influencers, and then you don’t have to fake it as much. And leverage your access to new spaces. Don’t stay still you gotta pretty carefully level up to your surroundings. Don’t overplay your hand and over promise what your real fanbase is, but move ambitiously with what you can do. Free game to anyone reading this, I can do it all day if anyone has questions I used to be a promoter.

They need a leader or they would of done it them self. You market by letting them know you have what they need to take it to the next level, you give them something to be a part of to call their own.you let them know you have the escape from the real world you give them anthems to deal with the real world. There’s no issue with that. It’s really the only way to level the playing field to get heard over artists who get a major label’s push. Labels that have 100s of million or even billions of dollars and connections that will get their music played on all major platforms and radio stations. What’s not fake is the success he’s had or the people who sell out his shows. But that early you gotta do something to stand out from the crowd.

this is how i believe cardi b blew up, I remember 'bodak yellow' being spammed with NPC comments around 4-5 months after the song was released, I felt something was off. The support didn't seem completely legit. It felt fake. I always had a feeling that a lot of big named artists buy fake views because human psychology suggests that we are more likely to be attracted to things already popular (or at least appear popular). I feel like Kanye West doesn't do this, even though he's incredibly huge. Compare his KZbin views and subscription count to someone like Drake or Bad Bunny.

This is a not a great example cos he wasn't a "random" kid. He was gaining traction on KZbin with r&b covers under the name kid Rahul. That's how his manager found him. He was signed by his manager n usher/universal n therefore was very well connected in the industry before. Usher n scouter setup a whole record label just for bieber. Justin Timberlake also wanted to sign him. They clearly put a lot of money n investment into him. This means they obviously did payola like all labels do. Anyone can do payola ... As long as u got the money. He was gaining traction online before getting signed. N a video of him singing ushers song Infront of usher also went viral. I'm not saying they didn't buy views cos maybe they did but he wasn't exactly starting from zero, he had the most organic push u can have. And it wasn't out of nowhere, he already had a top 20 hit before baby. I'm not even a Justin fan. I'm just a music nerd but I still know this

It's funny how like... if a trap artist has 25 million listeners and they're obviously nowhere near as good as good rappers, then some people just accept what they see. They're just like "Oh yeah, clearly Youngboy legitimately has more real fans than Jay-Z, Eminem, etc. Sure, Drake legit released 150 consecutive platinum-streaming singles without a single flop, sure." Well let me ask you this: of all the Youngboy stans on Twitter, how many of them were actually capable of holding a cogent conversation? And how many of them aren't capable of saying anything beyond "ratio + YB better," "W," "L," and "not rap"? Think about it. Real rappers have real fans that are capable of writing a paragraph. YB's stans speak like they were programmed by a first year programmer who can't even create a believable chatterbot.

Those bots don’t necessarily lead to triggering the algorithm for organic streams. But there are A LOT of people have fake bots, some intentionally, some unintentionally and a combination of both. Most people don’t have an understanding of the complex relationship that the music industry has with bots. That’s why you see so many people in the comments thinking that we’re saying something negative or are trying to discredit Travis just because we’re highlighting bots, but if you notice that’s the opposite of the points we discussed. Working with both small and major artists, I can say there’s legitimately scenarios that bots makes sense for the artist and their team…it’s just not usually what the public thinks about

I’m going to have to check them out, because I still don’t know about them, but I’m not surprised it’s more expensive. It’s common for new smaller players in saturated markets have to go “higher end”. $12 is EXTRA high though

I don't even know who they're talking about but just the Google shot of their music definitely shows me they all use bots. No way in the world a sane person would listen to the majority of the garbage and destruction these rappers put out today

Y’all shouldn’t be taking these TikTok’s too serious lol. His ex manager is his ex manager for a reason. Travis is in his own lane and his music speaks for it. The beats and production and the visuals all build up to his hype.

Who actually thought Travis Scott was worthy of that status. Any person can ask 100 people who is their top artist and you might get 3 or 4 people say Travis You got Drake, Kendrick, j.cole, Dababy, lil baby. He wouldn’t even come to mind. Honestly.

This discredits his entire history prior as a Producer. Can't discount the work he did to connect to the people like Hov, Ye and Virgil that put him on. He spawned from tumblr era.

It doesn't discredit his story. Fans just don't understand that using bots means that nothing else matters. That's why they get so defensive thinking that pointing out bot use is "hating" or try to downplay an artist. Bots are a tool, not a fix.
