Its crazy to think with a topline figure of nearly 20k, only 2k is profit. Amazon is ultimately the winner for new beginners but they have the platform so you have to pay to play I guess, Thanks for the transparrency travis & good luck Taylor!

The net margin for many wholesale sales & distribution businesses is only in the range of 10-15%, so this is not too bad considering it’s extremely low capital, low risk.

Looks successful after 3 months but it’s actually not. He put up over 13k in cash and only made $1900 in profit only 3 months so he’s still negative on his cash flow by more than 10k. New sellers have to look at the return on their cash. Also 10% net profit is very low, especially for a private label product.

Hi Travis, I have been watching your videos as I determined to start the Amazon business. First, thank you for all the informative, detailed videos. I am still in the process of searching a product. Ppl say to find high demand and low competition and I havent found a product that interests me despite looking for it all day and night for 2 weeks now. Maybe as a first seller I am too cautious and I wanna be assured that it can be a good sell. I plan on private labeling, but the item I have in mind is high demand and high competition and it sells well too. But I think there is a room for improvement. Do you think itis worth a shot? I am not sure so I am keep searching other items while I ordered the first item. Do you have any suggestion?

Quick question: Why would selling late cost him 1500USD? That did not make sense to me. He does not pay for Amazon Fees, if the items are not at Amazon warehouse yet, obviosuly his product is not seasonal, so it cannot be that he missed out a critical window. Nor his product expires due to a problem. If someone understand why, then please explain/elaborate? In my opinion, this highly depends on what you spend your time on: If you are not fully understanding the critical steps and details of doing business/commerce, then it is better to keep learning until you feel ready, then get into something you don't fully understand and struggle, get depressed in the mid-way.

Hello! Travis, Hope this finds you very well. First of all many thanks for putting in so much effort and knowledge into your free youtube videos, so at least interested parties learn about the fundementals and maybe some details. What I don't understand in this video is that you tell at 1:08 that you (singular) sold goods worth about 7 Mil. USD on Amazon, but the picture in the background shows pictures of your own created brand along with your student's launches. So did you (singular) achieve this amount stated, or had you done it together with your students? Thanks.

Amazon's fees will hurt you if you are starting with a very limited income. Even to be a featured seller, in order to be considered, you have to have a competitive price and free shipping. FBA can be a bit much if you are starting off with the minimum requirements to be a seller. I spend a lot of time researching products to sell.

This is why calculating costs and profitabiity for your product is an important step in the business. You have to consider everything in setting up your price.

Amazon has waaaaaayyyyyyyyy too many fees nowadays to make a profit. Plus, Amazon has begun to "court" Chinese factories to sell their products directly to Americans - Amazon is eliminating the American middleman. Typically American businesses buy inventory from China and sell it to the end customer. Now, Amazon has made it so cheap and easy for Chinese factories to send their products in bulk to sell directly to American customers, that any American business can't compete because the china's factory sells it to the customer cheaper than the middleman can buy it for. Amazon does this in order to be more like a Temu or Wish but with faster shipping. The time for selling on Amazon as an American is coming to an end. The only American business that can survive on Amazon is if you make custom items or you make your own product, have it patented, and have tens of thousands of dollars to fight copycats in court. Sorry for the bad news but it is important to know what you are getting into. :-(

This is why the way to go now is to create your own product if you want to be profitable on Amazon. Avoid going with traditional methods of private label and wholesale as these have become too saturated. I talk more about it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYPbi3lrqN-kra8feature=shared
