Lady Liselot enters Dutch waters again. In the previous video we left Blankenberge and you and I left each other 4Nm in front of Vlissingen (N). The 4 camera's I use to produce my outdoor footage, are so called PTZ - P(an) T(ilt) Z(oom). Zoom, I only use on the rear camera, when I am underway. As you have seen I use the pan and tilt a lot. And in the dark they produce a great (short view) infrared image. I even can navigate in a marina at night on my cams.
Since they all are so called "IP camera's", each have an unique (hardwired) IP address (no DNS) in my network.

This channel follows a format: "Join Henk-Jan, whilst he cruises on motorvessel Lady Liselot through The Netherlands and a little further". That's it. This automatically means: no boat tour and no boat jobs. These subjects do not fit the format. So, I aim to give you a feel for what life's like aboard for me and hope you enjoy it, perhaps relate to it or maybe even learn something. But it's simply my story and the way I do things. Waarom ik alles in het Engels doe?
Omdat ik video's kijk van Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers én heel veel Engelstaligen die allemaal Engels lullen en ook bootjesmensen / liveaboards zijn. Want alleen dan kan je je ervaring wereldwijd delen. En wat blijkt? Mijn video's worden in 127 landen bekeken (zie S03/E01 voor de lijst). Veel van mijn kijkers en abonnees zijn Engelstaligen die mijn video's helemaal top vinden, omdat ze óf familie hebben uit Nederland, of hier jaren geleden zijn geboren en door omstandigheden nu elders op de wereld wonen. En, dat ik dan Engels spreek met een accentje (net als de Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers overigens) dan interesseert hen dat helemaal niets.
Weet je dat Nederlandse ondertiteling aan kan zetten? Doorgaans zo'n 4 uur nadat de video is gepubliceerd. Klik op de video, en kies uit de iconen die rechtsonder verschijnen dan voor [ondertiteling] en kies daar voor Nederlands. Dan wordt zelfs mijn steenkolen Engels (knap he van die jongens en meisjes KZbin) vertaald naar Nederlandsch.

Hi Henk-Jan, Thanks for videos. They bring a lot of cultural avarness to the people that would like to explore beatifull waterways of Netherlands. Btw, Bikini is port of registry on Marshall Islands. All these mega yachts are regitered in some of tax paradise "countries" ...

I first went through that lock in 1972. I had no reverse & it was the first lock that i had ever entered. I went too fast, hooked a light line over a bollard, It snapped & the end whipped across my face & left a vicious mark there for several days. I looked like a pirate with a scar. In those days one reached up & paid the lock keepers half a guilder as one passed each bridge. No radio, you waited for him to see you. I have been quite a few times in my yacht since & love it. In 2022 I waited for 2 hours where you are for the bridge to open & went through in a convoy of boats to Middleburg

I have been through that lock a few times and as you will have discovered the wooden beams in the wooden beams in the water float up and down so you just lower your fenders to the beam and there is no rubbing at all. I stopped in a small and strange little marina where everything was very tight. My guess is that those big yachts were owned by Russians. Cheers Michael

1 uurtje wachten, maar dan heb je de blauwe golf op het kanaal door walcheren. Afmeren voor de keersluisbrug is ook altijd een dingetje in de zomer als het druk is. Weer genoten van de video en natuurlijk de mooie beelden van Vlissingen.

The funny thing is that I am convinced that you could actually "drive" that Bikini yourself. Probably not allowed due to regulation to single hand such a large vessel, but you could....
