This channel follows a format: "Join Henk-Jan, whilst he cruises with Lady Liselot".
That's it. This automatically means: no boat tour and no boat jobs. These subjects do not fit the format. Waarom ik alles in het Engels doe?
Omdat ik video's kijk van Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers én heel veel Engelstaligen die allemaal Engels lullen en ook bootjesmensen / liveaboards zijn. Want alleen dan kan je je ervaring wereldwijd delen. En wat blijkt? Mijn video's worden in 127 landen bekeken (zie S03/E01 voor de lijst). Veel van mijn kijkers en abonnees zijn Engelstaligen die mijn video's helemaal top vinden, omdat ze óf familie hebben uit Nederland, of hier jaren geleden zijn geboren en door omstandigheden nu elders op de wereld wonen. En, dat ik dan Engels spreek met een accentje (net als de Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers overigens) dan interesseert hen dat geen reet.
Weet je dat Nederlandse ondertiteling aan kan zetten? Doorgaans zo'n 4 uur nadat de video is gepubliceerd. Klik op de video, en kies uit de iconen die rechtsonder verschijnen dan voor [ondertiteling] en kies daar voor Nederlands. Dan wordt zelfs mijn steenkolen Engels (knap he van die jongens en meisjes KZbin) vertaald naar Nederlandsch.

Enjoyable videos. I like that you are boating in the winter. I live in the Pacific Northwest of the US. My wife and I love winter boating, so it is fun to see videos of someone else boating in the wind and rain.

Yep, all year round. Since I am a liveaboard, there often is no reason to stick in the winter berth marina. In summer I always am on anchor until it gets to cold to commute with the dinghy.

I'm Germany and we don't use thruster. We command the machine. If you need advice just ask .I hope this will help you on your jersey.

Ter info, in Zeebrugge is de mijnenbestrijdingsschool van de NL/BE marine, Equirmin. Ben ik begin jaren '80 meerdere keren geweest. Tegenwoordig zit er de gecombineerde Naval Academy.

Hallo Henk, het is waar dat de laatste video in Zeebrugge was en ik dacht dat dit de laatste was, maar nee, het is nog een korte rit om in Blankenberge te komen. moeilijk om vanuit de haven te starten, maar de achterstand goed in te halen. Als je de Belgische marinehaven passeert, ben ik een beetje verdrietig omdat ik in deze haven veel heb geoefend met de explosieve speurhonden, we hebben getraind in de marineboten. Mooie route en goede steiger in Blankenberge. Het ga je goed en tot de volgende keer.

Hi Henk-Jan, I am a little perplexed with your dress code. Whilst negotiating the exit from the marina you are wearing your life vest, however when underway at sea you are without your life vest. A bit like watching someone driving a car without seat belts. Just saying Henk-Jan, I do enjoy your videos. 🤣

Correct. Until 2 years ago, I even did not wear a life vest when docking, but a friend of mine owns a 135m tanker and he told me "you'd better wear a life vest whilst docking". So I do since then. When inside the cabins, the crew from the barges also hang the life vest, so I do also. In any case I have to abandon the vessel, I grab the vest, a waterproof life bag in the salon, I go to the fly and deploy the life raft.

When you leave the jetty is it some oil film on the water that is visible? Is it a usual phenomenon due to cold staring the engines or was that the first hint on the impeding doom of the engine? I am so glad that you could mend it in the end.

You have to start to use nautical terms, it's not km/h, it's knots.

Only at sea, it is. So in this video you where right. When behind the dikes and on rivers and canals, everywhere on the mainland Europe, km/h is the rule.

De Antillen haal ik met dit bootje niet, dus dat wordt vliegen as juni, maar The Med kan ik met 8x tanken via de Donau prima halen, dus dat komt goed.

when calling an operator on the VHF radio you should identify the type of vessel you are, instead of just saying Lady Liselot, you should say: motor vessel Lady Liselot... congrats for your channel, sorrty about the comment.

start using yr autopilot more. Y have only two hands. Soif or when yr autopilot is nos reliable y are not seaworthy. and a danger to youyrself and the other seafarers. Use yr auto pilot!!!!!
