I remember when rolex day-date 41 was 22k-34k back in 2012 i purchased my first one from my local authorized dealer lee Michaels fine jewelry which was the rolex day-date 41 and at that time it was discontinued by rolex so the prices went even more down i paid 17.7k for mines it was pre-owned. I had no idea the rolex day-date 41 was going to be selling for the prices they are selling right now they are in the 6 figure price range now, i went traded mines in at another authorized dealer of high end watches for a factory set diamond Hublot orlinski areofusion 45M rose gold the jewler told me all i need to give him was 5k because he was giving me 20k for my rolex and the Hublot was 25k. This was back in 2018 and if i knew all rolex day-date 41 models was going to spiral up in value i would have held on to it and could have got 40k for it.

I own a 14K 6MM 18" solid gold Cuban link Chain that was purchased in the 70's. The weight of it is 56.5 grams. I see that on most websites, the same chain with the same specs weigh in at only 46-51 grams. While I know it is stated that these are the "approximate weights" it still seems like a rather large difference. Is this normal? Thank you!

I hate to call a watch an investment, BUT In my years alive the only things ive ever owned that went up in value are real estate and my Rolex. Just a generic gold and SS blue dial sub that i bought for around 5k while on vacation in Grand Cayman in around 2003. Ive worn it 24/7/365 since then- and its definitely worth at least what i paid for it, even with prices dropping from their inflated high.
