Swapping to sct tires should lighten it up enough, for a 70+ mph run. The Traxxas S1 compound tires will hold up to 81mph running.

How can you run a 17/54 in yours can also mines a brushed rustler 4x4 but I upgraded it do you know what might be the reason

I'm not sure, I thought the XL5 and VXL version of the Rustler 4x4 used the same gears.

Nice vid I was looking into gearing my rustler 4x4 up, it’s got a titan 550 12T brushed motor, will gearing it up still work? Also did u buy your gears from traxxas?

Thanks glad you liked it 👍👍 Yes the gears are from Traxxas. Gearing it up should still work, just watch the esc/motor temps cause they will get hot quick. I recently burned up the esc on my 1/16 E-Revo from gearing it too high.

@@tysemilicia9548 There's a chance it can still burn up, I wouldn't rely on that 100%. I recommend checking it every few minutes until you know how long you can drive it with whatever gearing you choose just to be safe.

I have a spektrum brushless motor combo do you think i will get the exact speed as the vileneon brushless system with the appropriate gearing the motor is 3300 kv

I don't have any experience with Spektrum motors but I think it will go around the same speed, maybe faster.

I have a regular brushed 4x4 that I upgraded to the VXL, so the gearing on the diffs is much different. Currently I have a 10t pinion and I'm looking to get a bit more top speed. Should I go nuts and go up to 17t or would that wreck havoc on the brushed 4x4's diffs, do ya think?

Awesome upgrade 👍👍 I think it'd be fine with the 17t as long as you're not too hard on the throttle.

I did the same. Got a brushed rustler 4x4 and converted it to brushless. Stock diffs and 17t/54t combo. Diffs hold up fine and I beat the snot out of it all the time on 3s. It’s almost uncontrollable. My main issue is the stock tires. I topped out at 65 yesterday before shredding tires on some sandy patch. Just ordered some 17mm adapters and some belted buggy tires for her.
