Nice run with that beast!! So glad we have someone so passionate about this hobby that they will stand in the rain. Thank you sir for having that much passion and sharing your feedback. Fixing to buy my second RC later this week. The more I watch the Sledge the more I like it, but price is a show stopper for me. I would have to buy the Sledge, Traxxas batteries, charger, puts price at 1,100.00 for me. I just spent that kind of money two months ago for the Fireteam. All I have is IC5 connectors on my batteries. But Sledge appears as awesome as it looks. Great Video Brother!!!
@JayTeeRC2 жыл бұрын
No you don't have to use Traxxas batteries for it. I do not in mine. I actually use some hovoo batteries. that is what I been running. their 7200mah. just change connectors to ec5 like I did

@@JayTeeRC Thanks Jay Tee, will consider that option. So I will be good then with my charger?
@TRAVELER1972 жыл бұрын
Brother I use adapters in all my Traxxas vehicles, not buying a charger and batteries.

@@TRAVELER197Thanks everyone for the input and help. I just got into the hobby this year and pretty much don't know much. I will heavily consider the Sledge now. But Hobby shop is saying next batch of Sledge due in, June 9th...Tanks Sylvester!!!

I like the Motor in it. Really makes it pop and gives it the extra speed it needs. Looks like you need another Super Speed Saturday with this beast!

You can mount a motor fan but they chose not to provide one. I guess it doesn't get that hot in Texas. 🤦♂

I thought the lower the kv, the more powerful the motor is?
@martins26572 жыл бұрын
Hello, i have one question about Sledge and solution i can not find anywhere. I'm using stock remote controller and receiver for the Sledge. Is possible to make throttle more linear? Because at the start is nothing, then average and the most power is almost at the end of throttle trigger. It's ESC or Transmitter case? I tried trim throttle by 5,5% It helps little bit with reaction on the start of press throttle(Via Traxxas link app) more is bad, because wheels start turning itself. Throttle sensitivity i have on 100%, then another option is in Channel setup, there can i place 120% But i can not find anything which can help spread the power more linear, according to pressed throttle trigger. I'm not sure that better receiver and transmitter helps or if it is ESC issue/feature. I know that better transmitter together with a different receiver, allow set throttle curve as user wants. But i do not want to buy new radio for 250$ and realize, that it is ESC issue :-D
@JayTeeRC2 жыл бұрын
Have you tried to recalibrate the ESC?
@martins26572 жыл бұрын
Hello. Thank you very much. Recalibrating ESC with a Traxxas remote controler and its working now perfectly. Yes its hobby line with not superb response, but now it it what i wanted to have :-)

Is cause 2200 kV don't last for hard bashers gets to hot I've cooked a hobbywing 2200 kV I'm my Maxx v1 and a 1900 kV Leppard hobby motor currently running a 1730 kV with no heat issues
@redvikinghobbies2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jaytee, you have a link to that motor or a recommendation for Castle or HobbyWing that fit that mount? My Kraton is only 2050 but is much faster than the 2000 kv Sledge. Not sure why 50kv would make that much of a difference since my p and s are so close. It's gotta be the magnetic poles cause the X0-1 is only 2000 but is quicker. I was gonna swap that in until you did this video. And that's actually an old castle product. What's your final verdict?
@donniemarks942 жыл бұрын
Maybe the spectrum motor is just naturally more powerful than the traxxas motor
@redvikinghobbies2 жыл бұрын
@@donniemarks94 Well it definitely is regardless of the kv. I'm just not sure I wanna go that way if the HPI is cheap enough. Be nice to see this on a dry surface run.

I'm going to test it and run it off-road this weekend and do a temperature test to see what we get. Stay tuned for that or maybe I can do it in the next couple days I'm not sure

I'll try to do a speed test as well. But the motor is everything turns out right I'll send the link in the video and you can get it for about 65 bucks ship :-)
