What I learn is when you put more teeth gear the rpm gonna make the wheel ballooning to avoid that you can add thicker diff fluid in the diff to suit the rpm. My maxx v2 came with 23/50 the wheel was ballooning then I change to 20/50 the wheel wasn't ballooning then I change the diff oil from 50k to 30k it got smoother ride now with good steering

I picked up my black edition! Amazing truck thus far, I'm use to nitro trucks so something to me seems odd maybe you can clarify for me. when I use reverse it seems like the gear mesh sounds odd I popped the cover off and seems like the mesh is fine and no damage so maybe it's just me?

Looks really good all round. In some ways it seems like they've made a Kraton 8s but with Xmaxx underpinnings, so stable and handles well, but with Traxxas durability so far.

I'm a little concerned about the two air intakes, why would you want that on an RC-car that is typically driven on anything but asphalt? Seems like it's going to get just filled with sand, snow or water. I guess we'll see...

They make a aluminum servo horn that is billet and allows you utilize the servo bearing in the chassis. ProModler is who makes it and it’s like $20 I think. They used to not sell it alone but now they do

2085 and 2085x sucks in X-Maxx. Broke several ones... Hope for a upgrade to a more normal standard servo setup in both X-maxx and XRT. It is the only weak spot in my X-Maxx.... Apart from that. If this was around when I bought my X-Maxx I would have bought the XRT instead.... So now I have to buy another 8s car from Traxxas. :D

I have been thinking about an XRT but i still will get an X-Maxx someday and i was thinking about a HPI 5B Flux kit but they're having stock issues and i'm more comfortable buying Traxxas, Arrma and Losi vehicles. Currently i'm planning on saving up for a Losi 5T 2.0 i lost a month of saving to buying a Slash 4x4 Ultimate.

I’m kinda done with Traxxas. They have some nice features like the clipless bodies but I had e revo and Xmaxx and I thought the at least the Xmaxx would be durable and from a chassis perspective yes but in typical Traxxas fashion their servo and esc shit on me quick and at $1000 that’s ridiculous. I think I’m going to try Arrma next. I don’t have a comparison from an ownership perspective but Traxxas I feel is overrated for what they offer in my experience

Bahaha had to get a 5th scale truggy like arrma. I feel that Traxxas is scrambling lately now that all the other companies are producing basher rtr's. The sledge and the rxt to compete with the kraton. Drag slash to compete with the dr10. Then dropped the price 200 buck's to 299 price point again to compete with the dr10 and losi' camaro and f100. Get scared Traxxas you are no longer the only kid on the block hahahaha

“If it does overheat it’ll shut down” no, not in my experience they haven’t. The esc thermal is only for esc temp, and back when I ran a Traxxas radio while I could get a temp reading, she gladly went over 200 without hesitation. I’ll see if I can test that when I get my xrt, but I don’t use Traxxas radios so long term I’ll be using a spektrum radio. I have heard many say with the xmaxx if the temp sensor is unplugged the esc goes into limp mode but I never had that happen either.
