I really hate the attitudes and hypocrisy of NY. And nobody ever talks about Tim Dogg starting the East/West conflict. It's always Pac this, Pac that. Tim Dogg started it and nobody in NY said a damn thing to criticize it, yet 'Hit Em Up" was wrong.
@kweli059 жыл бұрын
Tim Dog was very much the (or a part of the) genesis of this east/west situation. And even though that's my position, I can kind of now understand more why he just up and dissed Compton. When he was trying to get in the game, every company he approached for a deal wanted him to be like the NWA of the east, and he wasn't like that. He supposedly made "Fuck Compton" out of frustration at companies wanting him to be something he was not. The same thing happened with Pastor Troy when he came out gunning for Master P. Tim was still wrong and was responsible for much of the east/west tension long before Tupac, but I feel a bit different now than I used to. Also, I have found out something very interesting about Tim Dog and Tupac. Tim Dog was in San Francisco or somewhere in Cali doing a show, when some dudes came at him. They were about to do some real damage to him, when Tupac (yes, Tupac) stepped in and saved his ass. Pac got him outta there, went home, got the guns, and they (Pac and Tim Dog) came back looking for the dudes. And it's true. Tim Dog said it, and Shock G has also talked about it. Who the hell woulda thunk this?!

Damn, I believed the story that Biggie called the radio station, but hearing it from Tray Deee takes away any room for doubt for me. Biggie kinda caught an oversized dose of karma coming out to LA (AND singing Long Kiss Goodnight on the radio). Should've chilled in his area until things cooled down.
@eastwood10263 жыл бұрын
Big was a dead man the second he set foot on LA soil. He shoulda stayed in NY. Tupac’s murder was still way too fresh and its still theories goin around puff had put a bounty on the death row chain which led to the scuffle at lake wood mall between death row and south side crips and Orlando Anderson (Tupac killer) which led to Tupac socking him out to Pac getting killed a few hours later by Orlando

Dudes say that New York New York wasn't a diss to NY/East Coast and I can believe that it originally wasn't. But during that time, when the East West rivalry was really starting to heat up, for top West Coast MC's to make a song that goes "New York, New York big city of dreams, but everything in New York aint always what it seems.." it was EASY for hot headed NY/East Coast dudes to take it the wrong way.

Biggie threw a jab at Pac' in "Long Kiss Goodnight", Who Shot Ya', and others. It was not that many, cuz' Biggie and Pacd was friends at one point. I personally saw them performin' on-stage together at The Muse in NY. Biggie was singin' "Party & Bullshit". Pac, Bobby Brown, Jodeci was all on-stage with him..and they acted out the fighting skit in the song. TRUE STORY.

@ Slim - Word, on camera? Wow... never knew that, my dude. I gotta go with Biggie mostly because, I was exposed to his music more, the NY Mix-tape scene bagginuhdayz was crazy and he was all over them with freestyles, but Pac never was. But, once he was killed (unfortunately/allegedly..haha) I went hard(pause) with his music and gave him a spot in my Top 10 of all-time. I just came across the Makaveli series of mixtapes(heads don't know about those.it was about #1-9, if I am correct) I had stashed. It is Pac dissin' the Fugees talkin' real greasy(you prolly heard it). But, Wyclef is on YouTizzy claimin' they was always friends..sooo..I am going to upload the song and make a quick video. hahaha!

@Lamar Brown I never saw this until now, but not sure if part of thst was directed at me or all the person who wrote the first response... Me being annoyed at people saying "Biggie never responded" isn't because of wanting to give him credit. It's annoying because people tried to paint Biggie as taking the high road when he didn't AT ALL. Even SNOOP said that shit! Long Kiss was AFTER Tupac died (Biggie's car accident was after Tupac was killed, and he mentioned it in the song). I liked Biggie's music - although I sided with Pac as a kid, but that was bullshit to play it like he just turned the other cheek and Tupac carried on a onesided rap beef. I'm not even blaming him for saying something back (other than after the man was dead). But talking heads spread bullshit to make him look better back in the day.

What are you saying about biggie didn't respond to pac on wax? Ofcourse he did. You didn't listen close enough to Life After Death vlad, he took a few sublminals and on Who Shot Ya (even though that song was recorded before the beef) the song itself fits the circumstances perfectly that's why big released it when he did
@PreemL9 жыл бұрын
getyoasshome I know it wasn't. And I didn't say it was.
@PreemL9 жыл бұрын
getyoasshome Who shot ya was released after beef began, after Pac got shot. The song wasn't written for pac but it was released as a subliminal diss because Pac was blaming Biggie and his crew for the shooting

Idk why everyone keeps talkin like the East west beef started with bad boy & death row. It started with Tim Dog & N.W.A. years before but that never gets mentioned.

It bugs the hell of me when people don't mention this: the thing about the new York shooting is that biggie got on the radio and said that tupac and the dogg pound where in new York shooting a video...the words out of his mouth was: Tupac! Not snoop dogg and the dog pound, so that could have played a roll in it as well.

Wow I always had a huge misconception about this story. I always thought Biggie called the radio station knowing about the building kicking shit and the same day the trailer got shot up. I didn’t know it didn’t got shot until the next day. And I didn’t know them kicking the building over was because they had just got shot at. Damn maybe they really weren’t trying to diss New York 🤔🧐🤯
@space_dogg Жыл бұрын
i think they were. bringing low riders etc. and emulating new york slang in the intro, making it sound corny, is disrespectful
@veautifulstranger6 жыл бұрын
A lot of people don't realize that biggie really did respond to 2pac. But if you didn't know about certain things that was spoken about or speculated about then you wouldn't realize that for example, on Long Kiss Goodnight, Notorious B.I.G was talking about 2pac.

i love east coast rap dont get me wrong but they have always been on that "we created hip hop we better than everybody" shit towards the west and the south the only reason i can think tht they would have shot it up because somebody was hating and cold part is the dogg pound was paying homage wit tht song at first

NY BIG CITY OF DREAMS EVERYTHING N NY AIN'T ALWAYS WHAT IT SEEMS U MITE GET FOOLED IF U COME FROM OT BUT I'M DOWN BY LAW IM FROM THE DOGG POUND . That hook sounds more like praise than a diss ! Negativity and propaganda made this something that it wasn't . Then Big on the radio instigating can't respect that . That's no where near street , a real man wud handle it himself or atleast with ppl they know directly and could call direct not shootout over the radio

Vlad, "Who Shot Ya" was enough of a diss by Big to 2Pac. Why you both claim he never replied shows y'all weren't in tune with Big body of work.
@joelnambombe23658 жыл бұрын
Vlad lost a lot of credibillity when he said that Young Thug's album was better than anything Wayne has ever put out. I'm not really a big Lil Wayne fan but Vlad was spewing bullshit and I know that he doesn't even believe what he said.
