I have a Magnuson supercharger installed on my 2017 tundra, towing 28ft RV. I have more then enough power and torque I don’t notice the trailer on the level or going up hill. For me was worth the money, plus my fuel economy improved when I don’t rump on it.

How is the power when you're not towing? What hp do u get? Thinking about adding one on my 18' Tundra.
@gy564 жыл бұрын
I have not dyned it, but 0-60 in 5.5, 5.7 Twice pushing about 5900 lbs (increased weight add ons) says it about the power. The horse power stated by Magnuson is 550 HP and 550 HP at the crank. I have seen a video with a Magnuson S.C. installed in a 2017 tundra sr5 put on a dyno rear wheel HP is 475 and torque is 467 at 4400 ft of elevation. I think that would be fairly close to real numbers. It is not cheap but I think worth it. I use to own a 69 Malibu SS for years before I sold it. After I added the S.C. this truck feeds my Horse power ego and my sedate normal driving habits so not interested in a new muscle car. I also added the Trd front and rear sway bar the truck handles almost as good as my 325I. But no off road stuff with the sway bars on.

Nicely done video mate and very informative....I also love the trd superchargers, it's a nice option to have for those Toyota owners that want a good amount of more power but that is also reliable and at a very reasonable value price. Great props to Toyota for making a factory supercharger that all Toyota owners can get and enjoy their Toyota cars and trucks even more.....on a side note, when you think about all the extra power you get from the supercharger and how that creates extra stress on the stock engine block and it's stock internal components, Yet Toyota was ok with just bolting the charger directly to a completely factory stock engine, it just goes to show the quality and durability of a Toyota engine and how they are factory stress tested to handle much more power then what the factory stock engines produce....in other words Toyota engines are over enginerd to last...

The fuel mods are not needed staying stock true. But doing the urd 7th injector or 2zj injectors or meth injection does help performance and longevity of the engine and charger.. I purchased and rebuilt my 2nd gen charger in my old 98 runner installed it without fuel mods at 300k miles on the drivetrain. Blew the first engine up at 340k swapped in a 270k mile engine with the 7th injector and it was 10x better across the board as far as throttle response and seat dyno. Now they discontinued that too of course because they had issues of bearing problems. The only problem that can solved, is to replace oem bearings for ceramic bearings and a custom shaft ceramic made. And wrapped around it. Making from stock 158 hp to 200 hp: is it worth for me? Yes but we know turbocharger is better. But I’m a die hard TRD. So what do I think? Is it worth it? And why?

As I was viewing your old video for TRD supercharger I have to correct you on the fact that yes it will run on regular gas also no pinging come of eng. There's a way to cheat the factory ecm and there's a modification on valve train I drive a 95 t100 factory ecm (they said it will not work) runs on regular gas , 10 psi boost and runs great

What mod/cheat? I have a 96 t100 and I want to supercharge it but I thought you couldn’t
@luiscruz-no3ib3 жыл бұрын
@@cartervaughn9180 to begin with the valve springs are to weak they tent to float under boost if you remove one you will find that they will be somewhere of 33to35 pounds not enough also the head gaskets are fiber you need the 1of the 3.4 tundra. Make sure you replace the head bolts . If you go that far .you need to remove the knock sensors install a brass washers under to make then less sensitive. I will stop here if you do all of that contact me again there's more you need to do (good luck)

Hey man I was wondering if you could help me out. I was interested in supercharging my Lexus that has the 2jzge. Maybe a trd supercharger fits?

Can you use this on a 1986 Toyota pickup with a 22r efi engine?
@DirtGarage Жыл бұрын
Sure! If you pull the engine and 3.4 swap. I have a video on this.

Would a R150 be incompatible with a supercharger on your 1uz ?
@DirtGarage2 жыл бұрын
It would be fine

So engine wise it’s stock? No replacing driveshaft or anything? I’m a huge “car guy” so excuse my arrogance. Thinking about supercharging my 2017 3.5L Tacoma
@DirtGarage4 жыл бұрын
The engine was swapped into this truck, the 3.4s never belonged in 89s.. But the engine itself is 100% stock, no upgraded internals. My driveshafts are custom to accommodate the 4x4 modifications done to this truck, stock driveshafts work just fine with blower.

Only 3500? The supercharger for my 1GR would cost 6000 bones 😭

I had to.pull the intake on my 3.4L this past weekend. I wish i had the blower to bolt on instead of that pain in the ass 2 part intake plenum.
@DirtGarage2 жыл бұрын
The blower is not easier to remove 🤣 Its big and bulky. Makes getting at some of the bolts a pain. But obviously worth it for boost.
