Very unfortunate he got injured... I seriously love Mike, have followed him since college and throughout his Indians career. Super great guy, miss seeing him in Cleveland. Wishing him nothing but the best

In trying this drill with some of my guys I think a useful cue is feeling the weight of the kettlebell sink the back foot into the ground as they move down the mound. Seems to help guys apply pressure through the back foot and hold the ground. Naturally guys seem to feel a better back hip load and feel less inclined to extend as the goal is to hold tensioin as opposed to linearly extend toward to target.

Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with or prevent finger blisters from throwing? I tend to get a blister on my middle finger from throwing cutters.
@TheBabbsFamily73 жыл бұрын
Give them Adequate time to heal properly and don’t peel the hardened skin off that comes with blisters and eventually it will become a callus... blisters in baseball and softball usually mean your taking too much time off in between workouts or your not allowing proper healing time with the blister it’s just like a guitar player playing until their fingers bleed if they don’t ever let them heal they won’t have time to harden and become a callus! Hope that helps!

Noticed front foot plant was mostly perpendicular to direction of plate. Is there value in executing the drill with plant foot pointing to plate?
@treadathletics3 жыл бұрын
No, you can't effectively execute the rotation phase of the throw in this drill, so reaching the front foot open would just build bad habits in my opinion.

Do you prefer this as a pre throw routine? How many times a weeks should someone do this drill?
@treadathletics3 жыл бұрын
Pre throwing for sure! This drill is low impact and can be done on a daily basis.

My fastball is 77 mph and my curve is 74. Is that normal, or am I doing something wrong?
@aidanbrennan75893 жыл бұрын
try using a lighter grip or change the grip completely. try keeping nothing behind the ball. you should have a 7-12 mph difference
