Thank you for passing the message to clean up natural areas even when you’re not the one who messed it up. It breaks my heart each time I see rubbish all over a natural area. I live in Mexico and it’s a huge problem here. Need to educated the people, starts in school...
@TREADtheglobe4 жыл бұрын
You are so welcome - we know it is a worldwide problem ... I disagree with it starting at school. If I dropped rubbish on the floor as a small child, my mum or dad would have made me pick it up and put it in my pocket until I found a bin. We need to teach our kids, teachers are not responsible for the moral upbringing of our young people, we are !! And of course subjects at school like environmental issues should be studied and should reinforce why we are taught to be conscientious, but I think we need to start from small, if you are old enough to eat the chocolate you are old enough to put the wrapper in the bin !! but that is just my opinion - Marianne 🌿🌺
@benilaur43874 жыл бұрын
@@TREADtheglobe I totally agree with you Marianne. Alas when the parents are the ones throwing rubbish outside their car, beating animals, etc, the kids will only get bad models. Which is why school is so important. We do a lot of free sterilization clinics here (over 70% of animals living in the street), and try to do regular school interventions. It’s only through the kids that we can hope the next generation will be more aware and responsible than this one.

I really thank you very much for this video. Because we need to save clean our coasts. This is very big problem in Turkey because some people has no environmental awareness . We have to save our coast to be clean. But is not enough, so everyone has to make it clean where he/she travels.

Hello Marianne & Chris :) Another insight of your daily routines !! :) We are both animal lovers ( we have 3 cats and a dog), and we always think that you cannot get too attached to the animals you see daily!! It must be quite sad at times when you say 'good bye'... Love your 'tread the Globe ' logo sign !! A good point you raised Chris, with arriving to a site, and leaving it clean. As you said, theres nothing you can do with other peoples actions! That was nice of you to clean the area up... I guess its tempting to leave a sign in english/turkish saying 'use the bins, and keep it clean like you would at home!! good on Ersal arranging a clean up !! Nice surprise... Gallipoli looked interesting. Always reminds me of the great film, and the soundtrack was lovely ... 'ADAGIO in G Minor'...and the walks you did in the afternoon was lovely. The fishing harbour looked really nice, and such a nice place to walk round. Thank you again to you both. Take care... and see you next time xx Angela & David xx

Hi Chris & Marion, Received my set of Stickers today, Thank you for the personal note as well, Most unusual in this day!! Still loving your videos, Really look forward to them each Wed and Sat! I just wanted to drop a note again as I noticed a few things in this video! First, just to say It can be dangerous to leave a cable coiled when you have current going through it (Like when you first put the new Solar panel on the window screen). Then I love the new Logo going up everywhere, Apart from I noticed you still have an old one on the outside of the van, between the passenger door and side door. Last, When Chris was cleaning the dew from the roof solar panels, He commented that he was getting Suds! I think this might of been because he was using Wet wipes and they do seem to produce suds when used in or with water. Was Great to see you clear up the beech!! I know that some last people will just dump their rubbish, But could that load you cleared up be a Wild animal going through the bin for scraps!! Keep up the Great work and Good luck with the rest of your journey! I really wish I could do it too!! Best wishes. Kevyn
@TREADtheglobe4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevyn - thanks for the tips, yes we have not completely done away with the old logo as it is still very much part of us - no baby wipes here !! but instead kitchen roll with detergent in it ?? never seen this before LOL ! Yes animals are deffo to blame for some of it ... but we would hope that people would take their rubbish home if the bin is full or find a bin down the road ... Turkey has bins EVERYWHERE !! they are dotted all the way down nearly every road that we have been driving down. The stickers take a while to get to you as we send them from Trudy LOL - and appreciate that you appreciate the personal note - Thank you for ordering the stickers and are coming on this adventure with us - kind regards Marianne

SO if the bin is full ... people need to take it to another bin with a lid .. or take it home to another bin .... There are bins everywhere in Turkey ... there is absolutely no excuse ... especially blaming the animals - I don't think they have mastered lifting a lid on a metal bin and pulling bags out ... well not yet !! 😂

Thanks for showing the trash and spreading the message of "leave it cleaner than before", Littering is a big issue here that we need awareness. I aint an expert but I am Turkish :) and my perspective about the taps is that they were very common in the ottoman era and some of those huge stylish taps survived to this day. As a dominantly muslim country that the believers perform ablution you need running clean water so it was handy to have the taps around and also water is apex to survival so why not have them around right?. Its a part of our culture now and surely they come in very handy even today! Also I believe you already found out that mosques has very clean toilets that you awesome peeps can use for the 2nd one:) Catching up with the rest of the trip keep on brining us joy and diging into the secret corners of Turkey!

I'm not a geologist or an expert by any means however, the rock that you asked about is a conglomerate . A mixture of sedimentary rock with rounded fragments greater than 2 mm within a matrix of finer grained material.. Parking close to the edge of a cliff is ill advised. Those areas look the way they do because of erosion. Large chunks of Earth fall off of there every once in awhile.

A moving tribute to the Anzacs killed at Gallipoli is often attributed to Atatürk in 1934: Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives ... You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours ... You, the mothers who sent their sons from faraway countries, wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well. This inscription appears on the Kemal Atatürk Memorial, Anzac Parade, Canberra.

Having been to Auschwitz and Choeung Ek (Cambodian killing fields) and the War Graves of Ypres. I want to go to Gallipoli to also pay my respects to the sacrifice of good humans. Gallipoli must give you that same extremely thoughtful and humbled feeling. Big up to the Treads for the cliff top clear up.Thanks for visiting and sharing. x

Chris is just in the process of making the video now ... it was very difficult and heartbreaking to see the graves that were all over the area - just tragic loss of life on all sides 🌺🙏

You’ll get a big thanks from your Turkish fans for cleaning up . Maybe you’ll get a free meal . Back when I was very young my Grandmother and I took a bus tour to Troy . We spent the night in a hotel in Canakale and there was an earthquake . I slept through it but it woke my grandmother . On our way back we stopped at a beach at Gallipoli , and someone found a metal button that had come off a military coat, maybe from that battle in WW 1 .

You're absolutely right about environmental protection. That waste near the beautiful beach just ruined the otherwise fantastic landscape. Where are the locals? It's shame that locals who have free access to such stunning views and beach leave waste in there in the first place. And worse is that the local authority allows that to happen!! You really are a wonderful couple. You are highly conscious of the harm we do to the environment. We should all, humanity, thank you for what you did there for the sake of humanity. However, the Turkish people should be made aware of what you did there-- it IS a really symbolic and relatable action. That sould be on the mainstream news channels in turkey. I believe it would motivate the locals and the Turkish people would relate to your concerns about, consciousness of, their environment. Your turkish friend sould communicate your story to some TV, tradio or newspapers. It's really amazing that you, foreign adventurers, bothered to clear the waste and clean the place while those who enjoy that environment unashamedly threw rubbish in there. P.S. everywhere in the world tourists are seen as harm to the environment, but with tourists like you, the world be a better place. Thank you
