We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

All deer lose their antlers, not horns, in the late winter. They grow back bigger each year and have skin on them to carry blood to them while they grow. Around the first part of September the skin starts to dry and they rub it off on trees and bushes. They use them to fight other males during the rut or mating season. Horns are found on members of the cow family and sheep and goats. Antlers are found on the deer family like elk and moose.

The problem in Alaska is the sun does not set in the summer, so you dont get a nighttime cool down. So when it's warm it stays warm. Stay safe and happy travels!!!

Happy day about Trudy's oil change and how easily you were able to get that done in Fairbanks. Wonderful spa. If I am ever in Fairbanks I believe we will drive out to the springs. The Ice Museum is spectacular! Wow! Thanks for taking us along. So nice of the proprietor to allow you to have the time before the scheduled tour. One of my late friends was an office worker on the Alaska Pipeline when it was being constructed. He and his wife worked in field offices up there.

nice reminiscing, we've been to North Pole and Santa Clause House, stayed in the campground, it's mad to enter Christmas in summer! Chena Hot springs!!! I fell in love with the north and went twice in February to Fairbanks for the Yukon Quest. The Hot Springs in winter are fabulous, all frosted over, true magic even though leaving the changing rooms to go out to the springs is a bit daunting, lol

Noticed a screen pop up early in this vid "Don't leave your husband behind"....You guys make a great couple but sometimes we all have to make those hard choices...Marianne, Chris is a big guy. He takes up a lot of space in that small van and drastically reduces your gas mileage. He also eats more than his share of food and likely uses up his share of the limited storage space. You're going to have explore the pros and cons of leaving him at the next rest area.. Just kidding....Enjoying your journey..

Hey Mark - we use the life saver jerrycan everyday !! As we get water from random taps and water pipes and I like to know it is safe it is undoubtably in our top 5 must have items !! Our garage is GGS in Hadley Park Telford - but they are overwhelmed with work !! Eeeek xx

So we don't put dirty water in - we always find a clear running river water / mountain / or tap in a public loo !! we have foldable plastic water carrying bags which we carry in our rucksack and then if we are out and see water - we collect it in those - I think as long as you can see through the water it will filter it - we also have a Steri-pen - this is a UV light pen - we carry it but only use it if we are backpacking - in the van Lifesaver is our go to!! Hey Alison - I do the driving as Chris does all the filming and then when I stop driving he then spends about 12 - 14 hours editing to produce the videos. If the drives are really long and I need a break Chris will happily take the wheel - but as I am a great driver and love driving it is rare that I need support. Marianne 🚐👍🌺
